No... Tuna is a pink to dark red flesh fish. Standard size could be 50 pounds in the tropics... Most popular are bluefin and yellowfin. The bluefin and the bigeye are the most common that came canned. Also is the Albacore and the Bonito.
Grilled tuna steak can be eaten medium rare as a steak.
Also Sashimi an sushi tuna is very, very good.

No. A tuna is is fish. Shellfish are mollusks. FYI- in order for something to be a shellfish, it has to have some type of crunchy exoskeleton.

It's not dumb. Dumb questions don't exist. (: I would stay away from it because especially if it's at a restaurant the shellfish could have been touching or near your tuna. Chopped up with the same knife.. Stuff like that. Be careful! I don't wanna say go for it cuz i dont want you to die but i do want you to enjoy your time. So.... Maybe go to another restaurant?

No. Shellfish refers to mollusks and crustaceans which humans eat, so it generally refers to clams, oysters, mussels, scallops, escargot, crab, lobster, shrimp, and prawns.
Tuna is simply a fish.

tuna is not a shellfish.it is a cold water fish, which is very good for your heart.it is rich in omega-3 fatty acids which are supposed to do wonders to your heart and arteries. these fatty acids which are essential oils help in lowering your ldl cholesterol ( the bad cholesterol) and at the same time raising the hdl(good cholesterol) however it is better to consume fresh tuna rather than the canned variety to get maximum benifits. omega -3 acids are also dais to be good for brains.
