Technically the child isn't the one that's a clown, one of his parents are. So it wouldn't matter if you told the child to stop clowning around.

Clowns are very aware of the anticlown hatecrimes and verbal slurs and would never talk to their children like that. They tell their kids " Stop being a bearded lady!!!!"

lol. Actually, when a kid misbehaves, you tell them to start doing homework then.
So it would probably be more like:
"That's IT!! If your not going to behave then you can start clowing around right now! Your doing two hours on the unicylcle! And put on a bigger bow-tie for crying not-out loud."
