I do not believe lust is a sin. It is a silly idea to identify a strong desire for something sexual as a sin but to laud a lust for life. The word wanderlust brings images of adventure and excitement and never one of obscenity or pornography.
It has everything to do with the the sexual nature of the desire. We were brought up and taught that sex is dirty, any sexual encounter outside of marriage is a sin and that all sexual encounters must be solely for the purpose of procreation. If we cast aside all these stupid ideas forced upon us, we realize sex is such a beautiful thing and is truly a wonderful expression of love.
Is it such a crime to have intense sexual cravings and have my feelings not go any deeper other than that which we call carnal desires? Should there always be a nobler, more sublime reason for going to bed with someone other than for the sheer enjoyment of have sex with someone you are lusting for? If beauty is its own excuse for being why can't we f*** just for our own f***ing pleasure.

Lust is considered a primarily and rather primitive feeling toward somebody. It's an uncontrollable urge that drives the mind into doing things only to achieve that purpose, like greed or hate.
Anything primal is considered a sin, in some sort of way, because humans are lead to believe that instinct isn't the way to go.

Lust is a sin when you lust after other men/women when you're married, because it could have the effect of you wanting to commit adultery or leave your spouse, even if you love your spouse. Before marriage, lust can be a good thing, because it could lead to the wonderful thing called marriage.

Lust is a sin because it is the opposite of love. Sexual desire comes from God and is good but it must be used for good. Lust is about USE and SELFISHNESS. There is nothing wrong with noticing beauty, however when you think of using that beauty for selfishness that is lust. In lust you USE another being for your OWN pleasure. It is all about you. That is wrong. Love is about the Self-lessness. Love denies yourself and wants only the good of the other person. In love, you enjoy each other because of the goodness of each other, and not seeking only your own pleasure.

Lust is like an embryo before it develops into a fetus.when lust is full grown it gives birth to sin. That is why it is wrong because it conceives sin.Prevention is better that cure. Avoid lusting and you won't have to worry about paying for your sins.

I think it is a diffferent kind of lust. Like lusting after someone's wife. Though I don't know a whole lot about it. I would think some lusts are good and some bad.

For everything in the world--the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does--comes not from the Father but from the world.

To dwell upon an Idea that is a sin, is a sin, because after you dwell upon it long enough you will follow your desire. Lust for your Husband or Wife is a righteous desire at the right time and place.

lust according to Webster's Dictionary is defined as 1) a very strong craving or desire. 2) an intense sexual appetite. Both of which are against the Bible and God's wishes for you. It's a sin, and the commandment is thus "Do not commit adultery." so sayeth the Lord God.
