The best three to know off hand are as follows:
Abraham
Moses
David

Abraham is associated with the choosing of him by God to lead His people.
Moses was the liberator of the Hebrews and of the receiver of the Torah.
David is associated with the concept of the Messiah ('annointed one').
If you keep these three in mind you should have no problem.
