My mother is a librarian and the Dewecy decimal system does not put the Bible in the fiction department and since libraries are dictated for unification purposes by the Dewey decimal system, then you wouldn't put it in the fiction section either.

No, I would not put it in the fiction section simply because the Bible is a collection of books actually. There is prophesy, psalms and prayers, and the Gospels that are God's Truth.

All religious writings no matter the religion belong shelved in the 200's which is the Religion section of the Dewey Decimal System. Libraries like other jobs have a set system and it wouldn't be up to me to change a set standard.

dude i completely agree. You cant put it in the factual section 'cos they would have to prove the existence of god which they can't fair do's i can't disprove it either but would you put your full faith and life into something that you where uncertain of? i don't fu*kin think so.
What a crock of sh*t they had to make up their own section 'cos it wouldn't look good in the fiction section now would it. how or why would people believe in fiction although i suppose you have star trek fanatics equally as annoying and irritating as bible bashers shoving their nonsense in your face

Actually I'd put the bible in the recycling bin.. but putting it in the myth and folklore section would be just as good

I'm all with independent_009.
But, Hell yes, it'd go in fiction. Or in archives, lost somewhere...
I just wouldn't put it in the children's section. You don't want to have them brainwashed at such a young age, now, do you?

I think history would be more appropriate. Although a lot of written history is fiction, so it is hard to say. Good question, it gives one something to ponder upon.
