The bill was paid about 5 days ago and it still is not turned on.

you should call the phone company because it should have been turned on the day you paid or atleast the next day

It should have been turned on within 3-4 hours to within 24 hours. If you paid in full withing 3-4 hours if not shorter. Partial payment can take up to 24 hours. But 5 days is way too long. Did you contact the phone company. Did you pay over the phone by credit card or check. If you placed the payment in snail mail for instance over the weekend, then maybe it would take longer but not 5 days. Call somebody, well use a friends/neighbors phone.

I work for AT&T, normally it takes 2-4 hours if your service was temporarily disconnected for non payment. The company gives a certain amount of time on temp discf no payment is made then you are totally disconnected ---- then you will more than likely be required to setup new account!!!

If it is on a weekday, then you can either call them and pay the min. due by echeck, CC, partner financial local shops.

Then tell them it must be turned on ASAP because you may need to call an ambulance or something. They can do it within 1/2 hr.

If the person says NO, then hang up call back to someone else and escalate to a supervisor (nicely).

Now days these thing are usually handled at the computer, so most companies have he capabilities to turn you service on at the click of a mouse; instantly.

It usually only takes a week or so.I'd call the phone company to make sure they received payment.

It should have been turned on 10 mins after you paid.. call them (phone booth) and tell them you paid and it wasnt turned back on

you need to contact you local phone company should of been on way by now unless they haven't received payment in there office yet call then asp
