Jesus is the man whose teachings started the Christian religion. Christians believe that Jesus the man is also the son of God.

Jesus is also called "Jesus Christ" or "Christ". The name Jesus comes from the Hebrew/Aramaic name "Yeshua," from Yehovah-shua, meaning "God saves." The word Christ comes from the Greek word christos and means "to mark on the head with oil" or "the anointed one." In Jesus' country this was done to show that a person was a king or a great leader. The Hebrew/Aramaic term Moshiach, from which we get the word "Messiah," also means "the anointed one."

The stories about Jesus are in the New Testament of the Bible. No one wrote about Jesus during his life, nor did Jesus write a book, so there are many things we do not know about him.

The Bible stories say that Jesus lived during the time of the Roman Empire in the country that is now Israel. The stories say that he was born while his mother and father were travelling, and they had to stay where the animals lived. Christians remember the day that he was born as the holiday of Christmas.

When Jesus grew up, he travelled around the country teaching by telling interesting stories. He taught that people should love God and try to help each other.

Many people said that Jesus could do miracles. They said that he created food and wine, healed sick people, and even made dead people alive again.

When Jesus began to become famous, he went to the city of Jerusalem. The Roman government there was afraid that he wanted to become the king of the country and take it over, so they killed him by nailing him to a cross and leaving him without food or water. This was a common way for the Romans to kill criminals.

After Jesus died he was buried in a cave. The Bible claims that after a few days, he rose from the dead. After this, his friends said that they had seen Jesus alive again. People believed that Jesus had returned to life. Christians remember this day as the holiday of Easter.

Jesus Christ is & was & still is the Son of GOD. He came to Earth born of a virgin, GOD's holy spirit implanted GOD'S seed in Mary. His purpose was multifold, to show the world GOD'S true self, to tear up the works of satan, & take back what Adam had given satan ( the keys of death, hell, & the grave)by dying on the cross. It's illigel to kill an innocent man . Jesus's followers were called christians because of the miricles they did after the resurection & pentecost
