Some people aren't everybody else. Society tells us that we have to be a social animal. Some of us need time to ourselves and like to think all by ourselves. We all don't need to be crowded and bothered by the daily ridiculousness that absorbs most other people. My guess is that you are bored (not depressed) but only bored by the humdrum of daily existence that others find so exhilarating. You'll eventually find something that occupies your mind that will help you to grow.

You sound like you may be depressed, but without any other information there is no way to tell for sure. Aside from skateboarding, how is your life? Is there anything big that has happened recently? Graduation? Loss of a job/pet/friend/boyfriend? Are your Parents getting divorced? Are you moving? I don't think there is anything wrong with you, but you should look at all that is going on in your life, write a list if you want, and try to narrow down what the root of the problem is..usually it's right under your nose and you don't even know it? You could be burnt out from school, or it maybe something bigger. Definately talk to a professional if you can't figure it out yourself..take care

No definitely you are not depressed..
Please don't get confused with 'being depressed' and 'being bored'.You are just getting bored.
Getting bored is a normal phenomenon which happens with anyone. That happens because of routine and mundane life pattern.
In your case, you had a set of tasks which you did with the same set of people at same time. This is the reason for boredom.May be you have extra interest-love for skating that escaped from boredom.
Nothing to worry..just change your routine a bit.Try to do new things.Try to make new friends.Remember skating is good but skating alone is not good.
All the best!

I cannot medically answer this question, but I will tell you that I am experiencing the same thing. I am purposely a full time cynical nihilist that cant stand the world. But usually I can handle troubles and stray away from the state of grief. But at the beginning of this year, things began to change. As my friends began to isolate from me, and the schoolwork piling up, my only escape became skateboarding. But as the school year began to draw near, my life became more complicated. Multiple papers to write and projects to complete began to steal my time dedicated to skating. Only to make matters worse, I was prescribed to take Zoloft due to a supposed anxiety issue that I am not aware of, but my mom is. It began to make me drowsy often and uninterested. I began falling asleep in classes that I used to always be alert in. As well, even when a chance showed up that I could free myself from everything and skate, I was too fatigued to bother.
So, in your instance, I cannot accurately say what is happening. What I can say is that nothing lasts forever; friends drift away, and school only becomes more of a chore. You must find what is bothering you and face it. Even if it is a struggle between yourself, don't give up. Try also to make more time for what you enjoy, and don’t let school be your excuse for not doing so (my mistake).

You might be suffering from a mild depression. I feel the same way about the Lakers. Whenever I watched them, I was escaping in my own little world. Now, its kinda different. It might just be a phase you're going though. Give it a couple weeks and see if you still feel the same way. If you do then ask if you could talk to a doctor about how you're feeling! Remember that everything will get better eventually! Good luck to you!

Its really hard to say without knowing more about you. I'm glad you have an outlet like skating for diversion. As far as your friends go, if they've changed in a way you don't like, I would either tell them about it, or re-evaluate who you hang out with. Don't change yourself just to be friends with them. Thats not a good idea.
I wouldn't say at all that you're depressed, you're just in a rut. In other words, you haven't had anything new to shake yourself out of this pattern in a while. You might try new experiences, a new hobby, or meeting new friends to get out of it.
I hope this helps.

I would keep a close eye on the falling asleep thing. That is not even close to being normal for a young girl like yourself! There could be many many underlying reasons for that. You may not be as healthy as you think. It could be the onset of some funky illness coming to fruition. This is not normal, take heed to this my friend, please pay close attention! Falling asleep is the body's way of telling you it needs recoup time for something. Unless you are mega stressed. You only know the answer to that one. Stress will trigger the chemical reaction to depression. Depression is a reoccurring mental illness that will come back all your life again and again if you let yourself get overstressed. It could kill you if you loose your will to thrive. I'm not kidding either. Once you loose your will to thrive, your done for, you cant take it back! My 54 year old friend who lost his partner to aids died one year to the day after his partner died. He lost his will to thrive. Please be careful in everything you have going on in your life. No stress in this life is ever worth taking your life away. Watch your symptoms please!!!!!!!

u might need more sleep at night. or it could be because of the changes ur body is going through as it is growing. it could be depression, or it could be a need for something to make u feel whole. it could be depression, or it could be an emptyness you have inside that skateboarding can fill.

It sounds like ADD...not ADHD. You get bored with everything except the stuff you like to do...and you "hyper focus" on the thing you do like to do. Talk to your doctor, but I don't think you are depressed based on this question. Talk to your parents too, they will want to help you. Good luck.
