Sounds like you have sensitive teeth. Try a toothpaste made for sensitive teeth. Sensodyne is a good one but there are other brands that are just as good. They do tast a bit different from regular toothpaste, but they do work. Just remember to use it at least twice a day every day.

Use a toothpaste for sensitive teeth. Another thing that can help is to rub your tooth or teeth with the toothpaste. It takes the sensitivity away. I don't think there is anything wrong with your tooth it is just super sensitive.

There are many reasons why teeth can become sensative. Here are the three most common reasons.
1. A recent fillings ( irritated nerve ) usually resolves with time.
2. Teeth get old and fracture. Small fractures of the enamel develop at the junction were the enamel and dentin meet at the surface. (The gum line to you) Most commonly people can find the trigger point with their finger nail. You'll know when you find it. It's a sharp very fast pain. It hurts because as the enamel fractures it leaves virgin dentin exposed to the oral cavity this is tooth(dentin) that has not been hardened by fluoride, for your whole life) and will react to even the slightest cold or touch. It usually gets better with time.
3. seasonal allergies; The sinuses fill with fluid and the fluid sits on the floor of the sinus and irritates the nerves to your upper teeth. you'll know if you have this if you have a low grade ache of all your upper teeth especially as you go back. If you do a fast toe touch you'll feel the pain move under your eye (thats the sinus fluid moving) This one is solved by taking claratin, zyrtec, or allegra.

You probably just have sensitive teeth, many people do (including me.) If it's just one tooth and it hurts when you eat hot food as well, it's a cavity.
