my 9 yrs old daughter picks her nose and eats her boogers and i get on to her cause i dont want her teased how do i stop her and why does she do it

Sometimes this is a nervous tick, kind of like nail biting. You could discuss it with your pediatrician and perhaps get some ideas of ways to distract her from this habit. Sometimes making the child aware of the habit and giving them other things to do with their hands when they feel the impulse to pick coming on. I know a child with this problem. I would advise trying that rather than shaming the child for it, which could backfire and make her more nervous and more likely to do it. It is important to intervene though, for the childs sake on a social level.

kids have a high disgust factor, which means it takes a lot to disgust them. At 9 it has turned into a habit. Find her something else to keep her hands occupied like play-dough or something.
Give her positive reinforcement when she isn't eating her boogers.

they eat their boogers for the same reason a dog licks their butt.......... it's there job in life.

i think they do it cuz they dont want to wipe it on themselves and cant help but pick it when it itches and dont like tissues or something. i would tell her its not good. tell her use tissues instead.
