Many people, in my experience, look down upon, or see as distasteful, very large families. A large family consisting of say, a Father, Mother, and 7 kids. Is there something wrong with it? Or is it perfectly fine? What is your opinion on this matter?

There's nothing wrong with large families as long as both parents want this many children, have the financial security to afford them and everyone (including parents) receives the personal attentions, affections and considerations each individual needs and deserves.

In my opinion, if the large family has income where they can afford to raise 7 kids, great! If everyone is suffering and starving, not smart at all! Unfortunately, poor people seem to be the ones who have large families, while weathy people have 1-2 children only. I guess education teaches us NOT to have a lot of children. I would like to see large families with good incomes where all the children were adopted! Too many kids out there grow up and never get adopted. Worse, celebrities who are rich adopt ONLY children from foreign countries. Why not adopt children from America? Oh that's right; THAT does not get in the magazines as much as a foreign adoption.

I think large families are not just alright, but actually beneficial to everyone in them. Larger families give the children more playmates, a better sense of community and can also teach roles of responsibility as well as give someone a large group of people they trust and can rely on for support.

Well, I think that people may have a negative feeling about large families mostly because they are rarely heard of these days. I think that having lots of family members is not a burden, rather it can be a blessing. Be happy with where you are, who you have around you, because not all people in this world can say they have someone they consider to be 'family'.

We do not need to re-populate the world. Its extremely selfish to have so many kids. Adopt some! The world is badly overpopulated and on the brink of collapse. Look at the enviornment, the wars. We're going to run out of oil and them water. Educated people realize this and either opt not to have any kids or limit the number. Our resources and energy are better spent working so thay there is something to leave our kids---check out my open question on the subject.
