America has not been part of the British Empire since 1776 and the declaration of independence. Britain now no longer has empire (stupid government, i want my empire back). The commonwealth is an organisation, made up of countries from the British Empire. I. e. Australia, New Zealand, Canada. Most of the world's land mass the biggest empire in history. We still own and govern small area, like the falklands, gibralter and the suez canal. other than that. They all of there own governments but they still affiliated to the British. e.g. the Royal Canadian Air Force.

No, but they still suppose to be friends. Not much of an empire left anyway, it has changed from the name of empire to the British Commonwealth of Nations, in which Canada, Australia, and alot of other nations belong, that use to be part of the British Empire, but the US is not included in it as the US is a Republic.

Thankfully no. Once we had taken everything we wanted we gave it back. We are still desperately trying to get rid of Australia but feel a bit guilty given the whole country is like Britains Guantanamo Bay, full of convicts and low lifes.
Nowadays the British Empire goes as far as the Isle of Wight but we are happy with that.

It is more likely that Britain is part of the American Empire - the undeclared 52nd State.

I should say not!--although the question of who is the happier for that remains to be answered. We are two independent countries, separated by a common language. (Three countries if you're a Stewart, four if you're a Wallys [Wallace]).

No American would ask that question--you must be French.

You Americans take you're independence very seriously. Really very very seriously. I barely know the first line of "God save the Queen" Gosh, I know the American national anthem better than my own!!!! (Oh say can you see.....something something..)Ha!
Unfortunately...No America does not belong to Britain anymore...much to our dismay (lol)...never mind I'll get over it. Yeah just got over it! Lol!
