Numerous urban legends have circulated containing speculation about the identity of the famous Gerber baby. Some claim that the baby is Sally Gerber, while others insist that it is a young Humphrey Bogart. Humphrey Bogart's portrait, drawn by his mother, was indeed used in national advertisements for Mellin baby foods, but not for Gerber Products. According to Gerber, the baby is actually Ann Turner Cook, depicted in a charcoal sketch by Dorothy Hope Smith.

You know Ann Cook's face, even if she hasn't looked the way you remember her since she was a baby. Cook, 70, is the original Gerber baby whose face is depicted on all Gerber products, including baby food.

i know. i'm 13 and about 3 months ago we were studying history.
a married couple was tired of chewing up food for their daughter so they invented a ginder and put the food in. they decided this would be a great opportunity to make some money. so they started a business and put their baby's face on the jar and people started to buy the product. that's the owner's baby face on the jar. it's kinda weird if you think about it. but that's the cold thruth. if you need more info, go to ask.com, google.com or even wikipedia.com by the way the baby's name is anna turner cook she is like 70 to 90 years old today.
