It cost about $300-700 to get special made teeth guard, but I don't have that kind of money. Is there a way I can stop or find an alternative teeth guard until I can afford a real one?

you can go to the grocery store and find them, or in magazines they offer gaurds that cost around 60-70$ this one actually will mold to you teeth, like a do it yourself type thing. my friend bought this one and it lasted her about 6 months, but she grindes her teeth really bad. hope I helped you. oh in the store they are usually by the toothpaste and hygiene products

You can get an inexpensive teeth guard at the drug store that is fitted by putting in hot water and then biting down on it. If you can't find them where you live, look for a sports mouth guard - they are basically the same thing.

I've had this problem my whole life. My dentist told me that I may have caused some of my cavities because of it. I couldn't afford the guard either. So, I just tried to be conscious of it and tried not to do it. Well, I ran into some people at a club one night that were doing some drugs I'm not going to disclose. It was causing them to grind their teeth. I saw one guy with his tongue stuck between his teeth and asked him why he did that. He said it was to keep from grinding his teeth. So, I tried it, only I didn't stick my tongue out of my mouth when I did it. It keeps me from grinding my teeth if I keep the tip of my tongue just between my front teeth. It will help because if you grind too hard, then you'll bite your tongue.

Go to any sporting goods store and buy a plastic mouthguard...you boil it in water until it is soft and then put it in your mouth after it has cooled and it will conform to the shape of your mouth....these are the same things the dentists use but they only cost about 3 bucks. Same things football and basketball players wear.

go to a place that sells sports equip, chances are they will be selling cheap ones that do the same thing, most of them are even able to be molded by placing them in boiling water, then forming it around your teeth.
