Oh God, I could go on and on with this.

Candy sales
Easter Flower sales
Holloween haunted house
X-Mas tree sales (might take a lot of work with a lot of resources but the profits are MASSIVE)
Tag sale
Monthly car wash
Lawn care crew
Walk-a-thon
5K race (my high school had one today for a kid with lymphoma, I heard they raised close to $10,000 for him with other stuff like raffles including a Hummer for a weekend)

One that I always like is a Spagetti Dinner with a reverse raffel.

Dinner and the initial ticket to the Raffel are some price per person like $50.00.

The way the raffel works is that the person who is the LAST ticket pulled gets a part of the proceeds. You can also give small prizes to every 10th person called or every 25th person called. Calling numbers all while you are eating dinner.

Now the other thing you can do, because no one like having just 1 ticket, is have two or three extra boards. Like a $5.00 board a $10.00 board. Again where the last ticket gets a portion of the proceeds for that board.

Then the other thing that a lot of places do is let the last 5 people choose if they want to split the money or go all the way. It's a no questions asked kind of thing where if even 1 person want's to go for it then all are in. But then again you can check after each number is pulled.

The food is typically good (spagetti is easy) and it's fun.

It also helps to have an open bar too.

If it is a college scholarship fund, you could have a huge gala, auctioning off students. As an example, if Mary were a high school student who played piano, she would be auctioned off to highest bidder for a two hour performance. If Larry were a student who cooked well, he could be auctioned to highest bidder for two meals cooked in bidder's home. Use your imagination. Students have many skills (lawn, babysitting, computer repair, fashion, etc).
My friend just raised $3,000.00, net, by having a luncheon followed by an afternoon of card games. She did it by inviting 25 couples and those couples were responsible for finding a couple to bring with them. All the couples paid to attend.
You could find an elementary school class whose students were willing to raise the money by doing yardwork, carwashing, pet bathing, etc.
You could have a pet-washing afternoon tea. Serve the owners some nice tea while their pooch is being washed in the back yard.
I actually think it is better to have students, who will eventually eligible for the scholarships, attend and work.
You could create a professionally-done cookbook for children, or a collection of poetry or craft ideas. Books are always easy to sell.
Have a fashion show and sell advance tickets. Make it glitzy.
Get a permit from your town and have all your friends dress up as clowns and spend a week-end in your town carrying around donation buckets.
Good luck. You will do it because when there's a will, there's a way.

Sponsor an event:
Casino night
or
Dinner & Dance
or
Have a spagetti supper
or
Sell Barbeque plates

Solicit contributions from local businesses and have a raffle.

Put together and publish a recipe book and sell them.

Silent auction (solicit donations from local businesses) & auction them off at the spaghetti supper for instance.

Car wash

Bake sale

Garage or Rummage Sale

Carnival for kids

Have an arts & crafts sale in a parking lot. Rent spaces to vendors. Do this in conjunction with the barbeque plates.

you can have elimination draws. You sell 50$ dollar tickets like we do and the grand prize can be like 5000 or so but you do make off this type of fundraiser.Youu have a dance and names are drawn and if want to take that prize you do or have your name returned to draw for hopes of another chance of larger prize.Need more info email me!
