The whole plan of the lord is that you first must trust him and have faith, after you have faith then he will show you the truth if you but ask him. He has shown me! Ask your self if you really believe what you read. Deep down your heart will tell you the truth that you are not just a freak of nature, you have a greater purpose in life than just to die. If you have but a seed of faith and water it with knowledge of the lord he will make it grow to a strong tree of eternal life.

I read some of it. I am a Christian. I will add that we take it by faith. If we are wrong, in the end we will just end up dead and forgotten. If we are right we will end up with a great reward.
I tried both ways of living good and bad. I love the Christian way of living better.
I still say we are winners either way.

I totally agree. most xians tend to say, 'well, maybe it's not supposed to be taken LITERALLY, but it's still the perfect guidebook for life."
TOTAL BS! You can't pick and choose. You either ignore the whole thing as somebody's misogynistic/nationalistic ramblings(as I choose to do), or you totally accept it for all of its woman-stoning,mass-murdering,angry, petty god-smitingness.

I completely disagree. The Bible is Holy Spirit-inspired and the Word of God. The author of that page says that we Christians have taken the "whole Bible out of context" and that "the Bible is a confused jumble of tales and fables, geneologies, poems and proverbs that were written in a time of superstition, mythology, ignorance and savagery".
But for those who actually believe the Word of God for what it is, the Holy Spirit gives a person insight on how to apply it to their lives. For a heathen or pagan who reads it, it won't make sense to them because they aren't viewing it as God trying to speak through the verses to them and their lives.
This author thinks that the Bible is just a bunch of fables because he's not reading it with the discernment of the Holy Spirit, thus not applying it to his life so it doesn't have any real meaning to him.
The Bible is often called the Living Word of God because it truly is alive in that the verses speak to the reader. That's why a person can read it over and over again and learn something new every time. For those who think they can read it once and learn everything about it and from it are foolishly mistaken.
As for the validity of the Bible, it is plain to see that the very prophecies that are in it are coming true in the world around us. As stated in Matthew 24:3-14, which talks about signs of the end of the world:
3As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. "Tell us," they said, "when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?"
4Jesus answered: "Watch out that no one deceives you. 5For many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am the Christ,[a]' and will deceive many. 6You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8All these are the beginning of birth pains.
9"Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. 10At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. 12Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. 14And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
You can see how these are coming true. In verse 5, Jesus says that "many will come in my name" and in verse 11 He says that "many false prophets will appear and deceive many people" which is very true by how many different religions are out there in the world. People are creating religions saying that each one can lead to eternal life or paradise because they want a religion that doesn't have the true God involved.
In verses 6 & 7, it says that people will "hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places." This is perfectly applicable because we hear of wars and earthquakes and countries going to war with one another ALL the time. This is happening more and more often which shows that the end of the world is near.
Verses 9 and 10 state that people will be persecuted and handed over to be out to death. This is happening NOW as people, in China and other countries ruled by communism, are being executed and persecuted merely because they are Christians. Verse 10 further states that "many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other" which is happening in present-day China and other countries, and even goes back to World War 2. Children that were involved with the Aryan Youth group under Hitler were betraying their friends that were Jews and even their parents that were helping hide Jews.
In verse 12 He says that "Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold". The world is getting more and more wicked all the time which is clear due to crimes that are worse and happening more often. People are getting cold towards others which is shown in anybody's life because people only care about themselves anymore. The homeless are practically ignored and even looked upon with scorn.
This is such a small part of the Bible, yet you can see how much of it is true. How then can the author of that webpage say that the Bible is just a bunch of fables and think he knows what he's talking about?
