Okay first im only 13 but this has really been bugging me.....
My step-grandma and her husband lost their house and we were trying to sell ours so we could save up and get a bigger one, so we took our house off the market and let them move in. Now while their staying in our house paying only utilitys we are stuck in a 3 bedroom apartment with 5 kids 2 adults and 4 dogs paying for them to live in our house. Now my dad spoke to a morgage person and they told us how much of a house we can afford but we cant get one untill we sell our other house. The thing is my step-grandparents dont want to but the house untill their ready, which could be never so were stuck here and my step mom doesnt want to say anything to her parents about buying the house is there anything i can do?

Its always hard when grandparents come to live with you (or in your old home in your case). I guess its double that when they are your step-grandparents.

There isn't much you can do unless you want to be really mean (which I'd say is a bad idea) and tell them to leave your house.

Best thing you can do, realize they are in a trouble spot (they are old and just lost their home, imagine if that was you) and need all the help they can get. Once they are back on their feet you can get your house. Also talk to your parents about how you feel. Don't yell at them, just be honest with your feelings.

Hope it all goes well!

P.S. (When my grandmother lived with us, I lost my bed, closet, room, bathroom and privacy. I had to sleep on my older sisters bedroom floor where it smelled like nail polish. Things could be much worse!)

Well #1, how did they lose their house? I know they may need some help because they are elderly but it should really be their problem, not you and your family's. I'd say use the money they had saved up for retirement and move them down to Florida or something where they can relax without having to put up with you and your 4 siblings, parents and dogs (I'm just saying they may need some personal space in there) If not then find a local retirement home and put them in there if they like it. Around where I live there's plenty of them so the market for them seems to be in great shape. A 55+ ownership, 18+ living neighborhoood should do the trick for them, no real problems to worry about in there. Plus I don't know why they would have wanted a big house to begin with, well not big, but a house in general you know what I mean. They may like something smaller and they would never have to do chores around it or really even pay extra for care of the place should they be enrolled in a retirement home. But of course they might not like it considering it's a bit close to a lot of people but they'd have fun there at least.

No, not at 13 there's not a thing you can do except tell your grandparents how you feel. Think carefully before you do this because it's likely to create friction between you, but on the other hand perhaps it will make them think of what they are doing to their grandchildren.
