There is no justification for killing innocents. There is also no justification for standing idly by while other people kill innocents.
The purpose of US troops in Iraq and Afghanistan is to defeat the terrorists who detonate suicide bombs on crowded streets, kidnap and behead foreigners, and ambush buses and then execute everyone who doesn't agree with their religious beliefs.
It is interesting that you condemn the US for killing civilians, but say nothing about the terrorists who have killed hundreds of times more.

Not all soldiers are Christians and who said the people being killed are anymore innocent than we are? Sure civilians will die, it's inevitable, and it's not, contrary to popular belief, always done intentively. Lest we forget the 3000 civilians who died in the attack on the twin towers, the OK city bombing, etc. If you think it is bad for you to have to watch it now, what if Bush had allowed the war to come to American soil and even more civilians had died. There are many misconceptions about Bush, and people act like he is acting different from any other president involed in a war. Ask anyone who was in Vietnam (and actually fought) what they think of Bush compared to their former president who presided over that war. Civilians always die in war and there have been less civillian casualties in this war than any other major war.
Also, if you think being Christian has anything to do with going to war, I suggest you reread the Bible. God sent many people to war and required many people to kill to protect his gift of freedom and free will. Unfortunately, some Christians have misinformed people about the true virtues of the Bible, and make them think that we must "force" religion on people. That's not true, and it's creating an ill-minded picture of Christians in people's mind.
Now-Why pick on Christians? Buddhists, Muslims, Hinduists, Jews, Native Americans, Taoists, and many other spiritualities preach the same message about peace.
If a man came into your home and attacked your children, what would be your first instinct? Kill or be killed, fight or flight. The same applies to the war in the middle east. We took to the desert to cut the terrorists Achilles Tendon and stop the funding process. You can believe what ever you want (or whatever people are telling you) about our efforts there and whether or not we should be there, but one things remains true no matter what you believe: The terrorists have been breeding more terrorists from hungry, less fortunate people by promising them money. What if they had freedom from suppression and could live the way they chose, under whatever religion, under whatever law, and not have to worry about where their next meal is coming from.
You don't have to like Christians or Christianity, but those Christians that are there are fighting along side Athiests and Agnostics, and any other people from different belief backgrounds so that those people can have the same right to not practice a certain religion that you have.
Also, don't you think those soldiers have enough nightmares at night, waking up with coldsweats because of what's going on over there? They don't need you making them feel guilty for sacrificing their lives and there minds to give someone else what you were born into so easily. Some of us are poor, some of us are rich, but all of us are wealthy for having the right to change that on our own.

Okay for your information there is a term for that... it is call "collateral damage" and collateral damage has happen in Iraq and in Afghanistan but only because those cowars as someone mentioned before use women and children as shields.I have walked the streets of Iraq and the steets of Afghanistan and i never saw an American soldiers deliberately kill an innocent child or woman .We as outsiders treated them with more respect than their men --At firts those innocent ones ..they do not want to approach you because they have been brain wash but as they see that we a kind and compassionate they are all over us.. and yes children have been killed just because they symphatize with the out siders... all in the name of Islam---sooo you tell me is this you kind of people....if that is the case why don't you move to one of those countries and speak your mind out ---lets see how long can you do that---- --now not all Americans are Christians... do your homework before generalizing....there are Buddhist,Muslams,Jews and of course Christians in the USA Army ..

Oh, would you leave the armed forces alone? Aren't they getting enough guff for this? It's not cool to bash on them. I'm a former Marine myself. They're following orders and trying to protect themselves. They're as scared over there as the civilians are. And it's not like they aren't being shot at. They are. You would probably freak out too.
Oh, and spectacular, you actually have to have some intelligence to be in the military these days. It's not all firing guns and such. There a lot of hyperly intelligent people in the military. A lot of retirees have or have had pretty good jobs in the private sector after the military. I was a photographer in the military. It wasn't easy to get that job. I had to take college-level courses in English and Public Relations in order to get the job. 40% of the students in my MOS (military occupational specialty) school did not finish and went to another MOS school.
Besides, have any of you been in the military? It sounds like most of you have not. You go through 6-13 weeks (if you're lucky not to get injured or sick) of pure unadulterated hell, and are desensitized to everything. Your only hope is letters from home. And the gentle smiles of people saying "thank you" as you walk by unable to say something. Until you've been through this, you do not a correct opinion on what it's like to be in the military! End of story!

There's nothing wrong with killing in a war. It happens. Don't misinterpret scripture for your own political means.
Despite how you want to misinterpret Christ's Sermon on the Mount, nothing in Christianity states that war is a sin, or that killing as part of a military campaign vs. evil is a sin.
Get a life.

I personally don't know... I am a Christian and not a soldier because I cant seem to find justification for it. Not all Christians agree with being in the Military.

It is kind of hard to avoid, though we do our best, since the cowards in Islam love to hide behind babies and women.
As for "Christian" soldiers I don't know. They are United States Soldiers...some are Christians...some are Islamic...some are Jewish...some are Pagan.
Here's a good question: Why would a mother that cares about her child allow a mass murdering terrorist to hide in her home when it could bring injury or death to herself or her family?
I guess to Islamic nuts life is cheap.

Maybe they feel they are not killing innocents. Maybe they are killing enemy combatants, you know the ones who place homemede mines beside the road then run away and behead innocent people on t.v.

Think of G.W Bush. The bible in no way inflicts his decisions. If they did, he would be more like Martin L. K. Christian americans don't regularly value the bible the way some people say they do.

Those soldiers probably aren't very religious. If they were, I couldn't see a true christian doing that kind of stuff.
