It is not required to refrigerate mustard for safety reasons, since nothing dangerous will grow in it. Refrigerating mustard helps preserve the flavor better, so generally refrigeration is recommended. But if you go on a road trip or a picnic or you just don't have room in the refrigerator, you can leave it out without worrying.

I don't think imustard needs to be refrigerated. I grew up in a household where muy Mom never put the ketchup or the mustard in the fridge, and I am fine!

I think depends on the concentration of preserving substances (benzoate, etc.). Mustard oil degrades also, but maybe not to the stage to be not safe. Just less healthy.

if it is standard American mustard, with lots of vinegar, it is probably safe to not refrigerate it.
But there are other types of mustard, and i don't know if they need refrigeration.

We never refridgerate it at the restaurant I work at...and we never have problems...but we use lots of it. I would still keep in the the fridge at home though, if you don't use it all in a week or two.

Sure it is..and don't bother too much, because it contains so many acids and salt that could be kept just not in hot place..
