I'm from South Africa and during my childhood my mother always made my father a sweet mustard, and I don't know the recipe. It's totally different from the texture of ordinary mustard. It's made from commercial mustard powder and has a totally fluid consistency. It is first sweet and lighter coloured, but with time gets stronger and darker in colour. (It is not kept in the fridge.)

Here is a "quick" recipe for you which you can make in a microwave:

Hot Sweet Mustard
Mix 1 can of dry mustard powder and 1 cup cider
vinegar. Leave it overnight.

Next day mix 2 eggs, 1 cup of sugar and a tsp of salt. Cook in the microwave for 8-9 minutes until mixture gets thicker. You should stir every 45 seconds to stop the egg from curdling.

This is sweet, but hot, so beware ;-)
