You can wear the engagement ring on your right hand. The wedding band goes on first as it is supposed to be closes to your heart. After the ceremony slip your engagement ring on.

The engagement ring is switched to the opposite hand. The wedding band is used at the ceremony. After the ceremony and before you greet your guests, take the engagement ring and place it back onto the ring finger, in front of the wedding band. [The engagement ring can also be placed in a safe deposit box.]

I believe that the wedding band is put on after the engagement ring. The engagement ring is given to the bride first so the wedding band must be put on after the minister/priest/whoever says to exchange rings.

I have always believed in the wedding ring and the engagement ring beinf fused together as a symbol that the two of you are now one while still two different people. So then they go on at the same time.
But the Wedding ring always goes on first so that it will be closest to your heart, as you move past the young part of your relationship and into the new, more mature areas of your life together.

Um... traditionally the wedding band is first on the finger. The engagement ring can go on after you walk down the aisle, unless you are having them fused together, in which case, he gives you both at the same time... which makes your life much easier, btw.
