Of course there is NO proof, or evidence of any kind, that the bible is "god's word". It's something people believe in on faith. Faith is the same thing as SUPPOSING something is true. Suppose your soul goes to heaven, or hell, or whatever. What happens to your body? Most people will admit that your body rots, or is burned up in cremation, because you can see that it happens with everyone that dies. You think with your brain. If your brain is destroyed you can't think. Most people that believe in heaven also believe that somehow you can think in heaven, but there's no reason to believe that, outside of your desire to not die.

It's entirely possible considering there are SEVERAL contradictions of several other documents, recordings, and other types of information in many holy books, especially the Bible. This has made me come to the conclusion that there really is no real religion and that we may simply become nothing when we die. It's entirely possible and we never really know what the end will be like since the things where people say they see themselves on their death bed but are then revived may simply be halucinations from a different point-of-view that the person remembers from their surrondings from the room before they went unconcious. For a real example of this there is the time Nikki Sixx of Mötley Crüe's heart gave out after a night of heavy drugs. He later reported seeing his own body in the ambulance but of course that may have been caused by the drug use. Then there's the contradictions themselves. I say if there is the slightest thing that says anything is false then it probably is, so many religions may qualify as being theorectically improbable and impossible of being the real thing. Plus it wasn't exactly God's words who wrote the Bible and the Gospels but His believers and followers of Jesus. Anything could have happened between the writing of those documents and the time they actually happened so we really don't know exactly what could have been the case.

You have it part right, our bodies will turn to dust. That is what our bodies were created from, and that is what we are destined to return to. But, when God breathed life into man He created a soul. That soul cannot be completely destroyed. It will exist for eternity somewhere. 1 birth = 2 deaths, but 2 briths =1 death. The second birth is salvation through Christ Jesus. Please read John & Romans in the Old Testament of the Bible. Read it with an open heart and mind. Then see if you still think that all of the other is 'melarky'. If so, may God have mercy one your soul when the time comes to stand before Him.

Yes I wonder about that all the time. Then I get to thinking about religion and my theory is that religion was created just to create order in the world and political hierarchy so that people had someone to blame when a tornadeo came and wiped out their house. Religion started as a way to understand things just like myths but religions took on a better basis with fanatics who would spend all their lives making other fanatics and "spreading the good word" (and killing anybody that didn't believe) and soon there was a religion.

Sure I've thought about that. I just prefer the concept that their is something more beyond that final ending. Otherwise why not live by the idea of the strong survive if there is no final judgement after death. But living by that concept scares me even more than the possiblity of being wrong about the existence of an after life.

I believe that is what happens. The Bible says that the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life. God does not want any of us to die. He wants us to live forever in our flesh right here on earth. it may seem incredible but it is true and Biblical. Mt Zion is his Holy Mountain which one day will be established here on earth, with streets of Gold and Gates of Pearl. We as humans should follow the words and ways of God so that we too can live in this Kingdom. Do you know that there are people in the Bible who never saw death?

Yes, I absolutely think that!
Going through 1 life is bad enough.
Although I'd rather be ashes instead of dust in the ground.

Yeah, I think that. But then again you hear over and over about being able to see yourself from people who die and are brought back...is it a state of mind (i.e. what you believed in before your death) or is there really something else after we die for your conciousness? I guess we'll find out eventually...

Sure Ive thought about it and if nothing happens after I die... great, I dont care. But Id rather live my life as though there is a Heaven and Hell and be wrong, than live as though there is not, and THEN be wrong.
