How can you know if someone has a lot of makeup on?
I wear blush, mascara, eye liner, and chapstick is that too much?

No that isn't too much. That's about what I wear and most people can't tell I'm wearing any at all. Too much makeup is usually things like caked on foundation and completely opaque eyeshadow. Even a little bit of makeup can look like too much if it's applied incorrectly, or is age inapropriate. for instance blue eyeshadow can be very pretty if you only use a little on your eyelids, but then look at Mimi from the drew cary show...too much. Makeup should accent your features, not overwhelm them. Make sure that only one of your features is showcased at a time...if you are going to wear dark or bright colors on your eyes, don't go too bright on your lips... You ought to be able to tell if you went a bit overboard by taking a hand mirror and going outside. sunlight makes everything seem brighter. You should see your beautiful face looking back at you. if all you see is the makeup, you ought to tone it down a bit

Its better to wear too little than to wear too much. Bath and Body offers a powder base that is kind of glittery, but not too much, that is nice with eye liner only, maybe a little chapstick too. alot of young people are shying away from mascara these days.. if you have to ask if it is too much, most of the time it is too much. I am not trying to be smart to you, it is just a rule of thumb usually... like i said, a small bit of powder foundation, eye liner and chapstick... that is an ideal make up day

Look in the mirror. Ask yourself if you look like a loose woman. If the answer is yes or even maybe, then you have put on too much makeup. Eye liner and mascara are the worse.

It depends how much of it your put on. I think girls generally look daft if they wear anything but mascara, but then what do i know, i'm a guy!
As long as you're not trying to wear it to impress guys, I think you'll be ok. I think girls look good when they dress to impress their female friends to win them over, otherwise they make a mess of themselves for guys for some reason (you must hate us that much)
I'm willing to bet, that like all girls, you are naturally so beautiful without the added pleasures of life, such as eating too much to get fat, drinking, drugs, late nights and wearing too much make up. You see little kids (no I am NOT a paedophile) that look cute because they are naturally beautiful (technically) and innocent. I say live a clean life and there's no need for makeup... except for mascara that makes a girl look unbearably cool and puts nice emphasis on her eyes. Also, some girls look nice with hairbands in their hair. Maybe give that a go.

I think that Blush and Chapstick is absolutely fine.
Mascara AND Eyeliner is going a little too heavy in looks.

Mimi from the Drew Carey Show.... now that's scary!!!! If you use the blush, mascara and eye liner in moderation then its completely fine but if you just load it on there really thick and bright! then it's going to look really trashy. alot of people use concealers and toners and all sorts of beauty products. You are just fine... don't worry about it.

If it's very obvious that you're wearing makeup, that's probably too much.
When I go to school, sometimes all I wear is mascara. It looks nice when you just try to exaggerate one part on your face (in my case, my eyes). So basically, on every day occasions just use one or two types of obvious makeup.

It doesnt sound like to much, but I would ask some one for there advice. You can always tells if it's to much if it comes off on your clothes! Go to Clinque at a mall and have them do your makeup (it's free) and then you will be able to tell if what you have been wearing is too much.

too much makeup, in my opinion, is to not be able to see a girls face: eyes, lips, etc. I'd say the most you can wear is lip gloss and eyeliner (or mascara)

When someone wear so much foundation you can see it's not the same skin tone...Also smoky eyes and red lipstick does not go good together...
Smoky eyes are nice..if ya wear nude lipstick or lip gloss..
