The bible is designed for anyone to read it... but it can be hard to follow.. that's why we have churches. Just beware of the churches that bash every other church and "enforce" THEIR rules (most baptist churches)

No, the bible is not designed to make those which read it religious. It's is designed to show people both believers and non- believers the life of Christ. What he did for our salvation and the ways in which we should live our lives. It is a persons beliefs and faith that causes them to become religious not the words they read in the book. Once they have decided the bible then becomes their guide and a tool of knowledge which can help them with any and all situations for the rest of their natural life.

Most of it's not. The Old Testament, for instance, is by and large meant more to be a record of religious observances, of traditions, of culture, of history. The Gospels are probably written with the goal of making people religious. They're the 'good news,' trying to tell people and convince them that Jesus is the Son of God. The rest of the New Testament, however, is not designed to make the readers relgious. The epistles were for a select group of people during a specific time, and they were kept as a guide for the Church, not as a tool of proselytization. Likewise, Revelations is meant for those who already believe. It's a warning and a prediction, and so I suppose in some ways it might be taken as a way to make people religious, but I think its greater purpose is just what it states - a revelation. If people are going to be relgious, it's going to be because of what's in the Gospels, not because of what's in Revelations.

Only for a sub-set of people already heavily influenced by other believers.
Try to imagine a person who is educated, but who is from a culture that doesn't see the Abrahamic traditions (Jews, Christians & Muslims) as the end-all and be-all of religious thinking.
I have met such people, and believe me, by and large they see the bible as a fairly incoherent anthology of many disparate traditions. The most generous comments I've heard from these non-Abrahamic individuals is that a few parts of the bible have some esthetic value, e.g., the more poetic Psalms.

2Tim3:16-"All scripture is inspired of God,and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight,
for disciplining in righteousness, that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work."
The Bible is designed to be a manual to assist us in life It offers counsel and admonition.Directs us in the way we should live our lives in order to please our Heavenly Father. It gives us examples of what can happen if we don't listen to God's counsel and what can happen if we do.It also provides us with a promise for the future and how we can avail ourselves of that promise.
The Bible is a valuable gift that our Creator Jehovah has bestowed upon us.It is up to each of us what we do with that gift.

If it is, then that would be a prime example of Unintelligent Design. It only succeeded in convincing me that god is a sadistic psychopath and his friends aren't much better.

The bible is like any book you'll find in any store.
It's all in how you interpret the ideas on the page.

far from it.
many would be quick to disclose it as just "fiction," and that is just fine for them.
many would see it as just a book, though countless others have not even read a single script.
