Fear can be one of the greatest motivators of all times. But as with just about anything, it still up to the individual, as to how they respond. Do they use it positively to change it, or negatively and give in to it. For a long time fear kept me a prisoner, then one day i decided that I was tired of it and that is when i starting using my fear to make changes for the better.

Yes. People are highly motivated by fear. Back when I was doing drugs a lot I would never apply for one that had mandatory drug tests due to the fear of a positive test. Now I am motivated by the fear of prison not to do drugs anymore. I also fear for my health because i did drugs. Today I am clean and my worst fear is my addiction getting out of it's cage again. Fear keeps it in there.

Yes, as awful as fear feels, it can be a powerful motivator if we get our head out of the way. When we have some control over the situation, fear can motivate us to influence the situation and events to improve the outcome.

At times fear may motivate someone to do something or at times it keeps them from doing something. For instance fear sometimes keeps you in a dead end job. In another instance, fear may motivate you to run accross a highway to save a child. It all depends, but when fear motivates you to do something heroic, then it becomes courage.

Yes, but it's not really motivation. If you try to make someone do something through fear and intimidation, especially if it someone close to you, maybe a child or younger person, they will end up hating or resenting you.

Unfortunately fear does sometimes motivate one to do what needs to be done.
Perhaps happiness should be the motivation?

I think if you are afraid of getting a butt the size of a VW Bug then it does make one want to put down the HOHO and go walking.
