Speaking as a straight male...I do believe gays are born that way.
Here is why;
Do you remember a point in your life when you said, "Hmm...I guess I better decide if I'm going to be attracted to boys or girls"? The answer is, OF COURSE YOU DIDN'T. You simply felt a natural attraction to one sex over the other. Well the same is true of gays...they feel a natural attraction to the same sex. It is not something they wish for or "decide". It is just how it is.

What a question? It has such an edge to it that it will continue to spark controversy until the end of the earth. Here is my theory.
I do not believe that people are born homosexual. It is a decision that the individual makes. Why?
I was challenged in this area. I experimented with women. I made a conscious decision to be with a man. Temptations do come and try to persuade me back to be with women. I know from own experience that if you want to be free from that lifestyle, you can be. When the temptation comes, resist it.
We have become such a lazy society. Microwaves, remote controls, and drive thru restaurants. The effort to fight the temptations is too much so we succumb. Blame it on genes that way no one will say that we are lazy. Thus we find ourselves in a world where men/men and women/women relationships are acceptable.
I will never find it acceptable but I will not be their judge either. The bible says, Judge no man. So I will not judge, but I will pray.

I personally do not believe a person is born gay or homosexual. I do think that being human though means that each of us have our own weaknesses and areas of temptation that we have the most trouble with. Some are tempted by greed and money others by lust and that can be toward a man or woman gay or straight. Having temptations is normal for anyone human and depending upon your spirituality or religious beliefs each person faces that temptation in different ways. Being human means like everyone else you are unique to yourself yet people are different in many of the same ways. I believe the natual attraction for a man is for a woman and a woman for a man but I also believe that there is a wide difference in the way people develop and what they believe. Each person must come to grips with who they are and where they stand and define themselves from within rather than without. By that I mean don't let someone else convince you what you are but decide for yourself. Each person must be happy with who they are and then seek to answer other questions of life that causes them concerns.

It's a possibility because once it is born the newborn baby senses things and they get adapted to the environment and start to become more and more homosexual/gay as it grows Also there's is a possibility that they are born homosexual/gay and they don't realize until on day they wake up and start having weird thoughts about girls/boys. if they decide oh one day when they wake up oh i am gay it means either they want to experiment or maybe they really have passionate feelings to girls/boys and just come out of the closet to them self's. Have a talk with your Child on the way or Child period

IF you think about it, why would any one really want to be gay since there is so much hate and fear expressed towards LBGT people? It would not really make sense.
I am gay, and I went through the phase where I really wanted ot be str8 but it just would not happen. I really think backon things and realize that this is who I always was. Ask people if they slowely just became straight. Didi it happen gradually or were they just always that way?
More important, does any of this really matter? SHould we really be concerened about people being gay or straight? Some people say that if being gay really is genetic then we should advance genetic studies far enough that we can just breed it out of existance. Its really not all that diffrent than what the Nazis wanted to do with the Jews or any of the others that they thought undesirable.

I agree with you on loving my child no matter what.
I do believe that people are born gay. I believe that a person just loves who they love. PERIOD. I also think there are people out there that have a confused sense of self and that confusion can lead them to "try" to find their sexual identity, but overall they are either gay or straight.
I am a straight woman who has a ton of gay friends (both male and female). I was raised to accept people for who they are and to not judge them for their lifestyles - whether by choice, birth, or experimentation. I feel that anti-gay people who use their religious beliefs as an excuse to be mean, cruel, and to judge others need to go back to their bibles and look up judging others. The only true judge is GOD and we ALL have to face him when our time comes, and wont it be sad for those who decided to take His job by judging others while they were alive. Just something to think about....

There have been several studies showing that the reactions of a homosexual person's brain differ from that of a heterosexual when presented with images of the opposite sex. Basically, a gay man's brain would react the same towards men as a straight man's would towards women. It is interesting that, while the same thing has been noticed in the brains of gay women, it isn't necessarily as strong a reaction.

How could someone who is not homosexual ever know? But do you remember choosing your own sexuality? Could YOU ever change your mind? I think sexuality is a physical trait, in that a person's brain structures (and activity) control it. Men and women are not very different, physically. The clitoris grows from the same erectile tissue as the penis. Men can lactate by taking certain drugs that stimulate a gland in the brain. I think a subtle change in the sector of the brain that controls sexuality could account for all the shades of homosexual, bisexual, and asexual people in the world. Their exotic sexuality being no different than having exceptional skill at math, or having perfect pitch.

I have always viewed it like this. If you say that it is a choice. Then at some point in your life you have thought about being intimate with the same sex and chose not to. Now I knew from the time that I was 6 years old that I liked boys. Nobody told me to and nobody told me not to. It was already there. I believe this to be the same about being gay. So if someone thinks it's a choice then I think they are bi-sexual.

I have two thoughts on this...society dicates man/woman, so many people simply think, "Well, that's just how everyone is." Then later in life something happens and they realize they've been kidding themselves all along, they're attracted to the same sex. That's when they're born that way.
Other people do it because of experimentation, the thrill, to piss off their parents, or some other reasons. For those people, it's a choice.
