What do I do when my cat has taken up the annoying habit of going into a room, finding a wall, looking up and HOWLING AT IT. He just stares at the wall and screams! He is eating fine and everything else he does is normal, its just very annoying to hear him enter our room and start screaming his head off. Its not for attention, its not cuz he is in pain, WHY IS HE DOING THIS??

If anyone else lived in your place before you did, chances are there's a "smell"on the wall. He smells it and doesn't like it.
I have 4 cats and they yell and yell if they don't like the smell of something. (Like cleansers or spray air fresheners).
Maybe the kit needs a little more love too. Mine scream when they are in need of attention.

cats can be weird maybe hes seeing shadows or something that you cant see, some people even think cats have the ability to sense spirits, who knows, or maybe you just have a cat whos sould purpose in life is to make you ask why

your best bet is to take the cat to the vet to be sure there is nothing wrong, if that doesnt seem to be the case; it maybe searching for a female depending on how old it is..The cry or scream maybe it's way of attracting one...

My cat does this too and it is annoying!! I think he does it to get attention!

If your male cat has not been neutered, I'd say he is calling for a mate. They do this (usually outdoors, and loud enough for a female to hear).
If he HAS been neutered........no guess.

he is peeing okay? does he have a urinary tract infection? mine got one, male cat, because he ate too much dry cat food and got an infection and crystals in his bladder and urethra. this can be fatal for them, if they can't pee. just a thought. are you sure he is okay? maybe the vet can help you with this.

maybe he see's a fly or a bug or maybe he see's something that we don't.
one of my cats meows and swats at the air sometimes and nothing is there.
you know, they do have some sort of sixth sense that we don't.
