i don't believe so, but i would check with your caregiver. some offices offer a third trimester 4D ultrasound at an extra cost and most insurance companies will not cover it unless medically necessary.

Researchers have found absolutly no evidence that one ultra sound or repeated ultra sounds have any negative effects on the baby. I had my first Ultra sound at 8 weeks (a cute squirming little blob) but I hope to get a second within the next month so I can see the sex. Some women with problematic pregnancies have an ultrasound at least once a month. Tell your doctor how you feel, as long as your insurance covers the procedure (and most don't have a problem) you are good to go. Good Luck!

No problem what so ever having an ultra sound to tell the gender. I had a high risk pregnancy and I had more ultra sounds than you can imagine right up to the week before I delivered (I delivered at 39 weeks and my baby is 11 months old now) and you could always tell the gender (as long as the baby is in a good position to show his/her privates).
The only problem you may run into it whether or not your doctor will order an ultra sound for just that reason, and your insurance probably won't pay for it unless there is a medical necessity for having it done.

Im going in for one Tuesday to find out the sex of the baby. Im 20 weeks right now. So I dont see why this should be a problem. Im suprised it hasnt been done yet. The midwife I go to does one in the begining to measure the baby, one at 20 -22 weeks to determine the sex of the baby and another one at 9 months to make sure the baby is head down.

Yes you can have an ultrasound but i nor they can guarantee that you will be able to tell. My sister got many ultrasounds and still even up to the day before he was born they couldn't tell what sex the baby was. Sometimes they just say heck no i ain't going to tell you. But its worth a try and i am sure that they will do another ultra sound before baby is born to make sure they are in the right position for birth.

I had an ultrasound at 8 months because I had a wee bit of spotting they said it was perfectly safe. You can request an u/s anytime you want if you have a great ob. Good luck. It's wonderful to see the baby so developed at this stage!!

You can get an ultrasound and find out the sex of your baby anytime after the sex organs form. They don't go away.
