The same thing happened to one of my cats. He was a big cat and the vet said it most likely happened when he jumped down from something. He had a torn Achilles tendon and nothing could be done for him. This was many years ago and they may have treatment for it now. At any rate he did recover and walk normally again. By the way he lived for another 12 years after this accident.

He's 15?? He is a very old cat...bless his heart. He no doubt has arthritis, and this is the only way he can walk without pain.

He should visit the vet. Perhaps there is an anti-inflammatory medication he could prescribe.

Months!? Why haven't you taken him to the vet? There is obviously something wrong, and he could be in a LOT of pain! Take him to the vet as soon as possible.

Can't be too healthy if that is the way it is walking. Take it to a vet to make sure that it hasn't broken anything when jumping.

I would think about taking him to the vet. If he is big like you say, could be he is having problems carrying his weight of which is effecting his leg. Kind of like a 400 lbs. man having to carry his weight, only to discover, his knees are wearing out. Take him to vet.

go to your vet, along with the excess weight stressing his joints, walking on there legs like that can be a sign of diabetes. does your cat seem to drink alot and pee a lot? take him to the vet!!!
