I am just wondering what you would do if A man with a long beard and a sheet dress came here and claimed that he was jesus and was the son of god. I am not trying to offend any one but My friends mom asked me this and i am just passing it on.

The question is a good thought-provoker. The first time Jesus came to earth most people reacted the way that most people would: thought he was nuts. Even his family did for a while (it's in the Bible somewhere...)

Most Christians say we won't have that problem again... he'll come in glory.. yada yada...

But the point of the question really is... "if you had been there the first time around, what would have made you different from everyone else who didn't want to believe him?"

I doubt I would have just bought it.

Well...the Jesus of 2000 years ago wore the clothing of the day. So one might expect, in the second coming, he would be more fasionably up-to-date.
Certainly, over the centuries, many have considered themselves the son of God...so I expect...whether or not this person is Jesus Christ...I would consider him a bit of a loony ... just as people did in Biblical times.

I think people of today are so untrustworthy (myself included) that we would want proof. Didn't God say that it was okay to ask for proof seeing as he wouldn't mind showing it. Actually, not just today, but in any time, people won't trust someone of their day as much as they trust someone of the past.

I was recently thinking of a similar question. If someone came to you, today, and said they had a third book inspired by God that continues the bible, would you trust them? I don't think people today would trust them so easily which is why I can clearly see where the Jews are coming from.

When Jesus was here he never said anything about returning...but the reason he wore a robe and a beard 2000yr ago is because that is what people wore. I don't think he would ware them now...Anyway we are all the children of God...even nut jobs in robes...

Say namaste (the divine in me respectfully bows and honors to the divine in you) and treat him as I would anyone else and just address him by the name Jesus. I'm a Hindu so the divine manifested the entire universe into existence and thus the divine spark resides in everything. In essence, we are all of God. So my approach is based upon my religion.

I wouldnt believe him, I dont believe Jesus will return dressed in ancient clothing. However if he showed some kind of proof like real healings or perhapse told me more about myself than Ive told anyone, I might give him a listen.

i would listen carefully to what he had to say. i believe if Jesus came to earth today, (not for the rapture or any parts of the last days), just to be here, He would dress like we do. I really think He would be a normal part of society. He wouldn't look like we all think He would.

There have been too many fakes to just believe anything as wild as that. It would take some pretty miraculous proof and I'm talking real miracle, not some magic trick. Perhaps bring back a dead relative whom you would know without a doubt.
PS. I loved your answer to how to cook a bean.

Tell her that when Jesus truly comes back and he will be descending in a cloud. Everyone will know who he is. He wore modern day clothes back then. Who is to say he won't now? he might be dressed in a 5 piece suit, who knows?
