I doubt it. I've been on here waiting for any good point to sway my view, but here I am still demanding deportation and a huge wall with an alligator infested moat.

Illegal immigration shouldn't be rewarded, I agree with the fact that the US must protect and control their borders, that's the logic thing to do. But these people shouldn't be treated like animals, that's how the border patrol usually treats them... they're looking for a job, not to kill, not to rob... just to work and eat... if you have to deport them, do it, but with at least some dignity.
Is like when you have a grocery shop, you catch an obviously desperate someone trying to steal a water bottle... yes, he's doing the wrong thing and you can ask him to leave (empty handed, of course) or pay for it before you call the police, is not the same treatment you give to someone who comes with a gun to take all you have in your cashier, could I make my point here???
I'm Mexican... and I'm against illegal immigration, but I'm also against "beaner" hunters and racism, remember as well you aaaall were also illegal immigrants, I don't think the first english that came to America showed their documentation to the native americans, they actually DID it in the violent way.
Definitively, Mexico and all other countries MUST give us the proper ways to get a decent job here to avoid trying to immigrate to a country where many people is closed-minded and xenophobic. Not all of them, I have very good American friends.

They should not be rewarded for breaking our laws. they should be deported at once. The argument about feeding the family doesn't wash either. mexico has plenty of farm land, plenty of cattle ranches. There is no famine in Mexico. The problem is this. They have gotten a taste of the excesses we have in our country, and they want more. They are trying to break free of the lifestyles they grew up with. It is a human issue, they are humans. But it is not a humane issue. They are not escaping persecution, or oppression. They need to go home and work hard to improve their lives. There are rich Mexicans. They didn't get rich by comming here and plucking lettuce. There is money to be Made in Mexico. They just need to figure it out and quit trying to cash in the easy way, by stealing our benifits. Go home and work hard.

I can't find a good point for breaking the law, Vincente Fox wants them to keep coming so he can get rid of most of his poor, he doesn't want the problem of making his country a functioning government for the people. They are so corrupt, and in bed with the drug cartel. Most of their politicians and the judges are paid off by the drug cartel, and their starting here in San Diego to. They just caught to American border officers taking bribes, at 1,500 a head to let the coyotes pass through the border with human cargo. It was a year long investigation, and 6 others are also involved.

All it would take to end it is to arrest a few criminals who employ them, the real criminals, the US citizens who willingly break the law for just a little more profit. Throw a few of the higher ups at Tyson chicken factory in jail for a year or two, the problems would be over in 2 seconds.

I am not a supporter of illegal immigration.I am a supporter of illegal immigrants in this country right now.
Secure the border.
Screen the illegals.
Deport the undesirables.
Give the rest amnesty.
I think that is a perfectly rational solution.Yes they broke the law.I don't have a valid arguement to defend them. They are here already. It doesn't make any sense to me to deport all of them. The only rational thing to do is to give them a "path to citizenship".

Hello arian. Just reading your questions and answers on the "illegal" immigration debate and I think we're in agreement (as are most Americans) on this issue (you can read some of my other answers on the subject); I haven't (I guess surprisingly) been called a racist yet for simply wanting to enforce our laws, regulate our economy and to secure our borders and population. Although it seems odd to me also that anyone thinks we should reward/encourage illegal immigration, there are powerful groups of Americans that do benefit from the illegals in the US. Probably the most obvious group of Americans benefiting from illegal aliens are those businesses- ranging from Tyson Chicken to the small landscaping company my friend works at-that hire illegals at (often much) lower wages (no benefits, taxes etc.) than they would have to pay legal immigrants and citizens. In addition, many businesses rely heavily on the business of illegals. In addition, there are social and religious organizations that benefit from the (mostly Mexican) illegal immigrants because they provide financial benefit to them- as someone answered to one of your questions, most of the Mexican immigrants are Catholic, so the Catholic churches in the Southwest gain parishoners and revenue. I'm not positive, but I imagine legal organizations like the ACLU are having a field day and have found a financial goldmine defending the "rights" of illegal immigrants. Perhaps most importantly, however, I think politicians from both parties are caving in to the demands of the illegal immigrants because, for years, we have heard that Hispanics are the largest growing population in the US (and that they are supposed to become the largest ethnic demographic by like 2030?) and both parties are trying to gain favor with this emerging powerful political demographic for the future while ignoring the current laws and wishes of the American people. So while the majority of Americans are against illegal immigration and it seems like a case of common sense that every American would be against it, there is a politically loud and economically powerful minority benefiting from illegal immigrants who will continue to advocate for their necessity and "rights" in the US.

No, this is a 'vincent fox' issue, like he's intentionally doing things that are in violation of US laws. He can keep his drugs, his poor, and his sob stories, and do a lot more to actively reform his own country, like for one being a better border partner by promoting foreign investment, law enforcement, all those 'civilized nation' things. Or, alternatively, face being barred completely out of our country. Then, it'd be 'adapt or die'...either way, good riddance to bad news, there...

If you lived in a place where you could not get work to feed your family and knew that there was somewhere to go to get work - would you not go. Thanks to American farm subsidies you can buy corn, a staple of the diet, in Mexico for less than the cost of growing it. We have helped to destroy the economy of Mexico and their governments have done the rest. People from Mexico who have come here to work send over 2 billion dollars home to their families every year. Is it right to break the law - No. Would I do whatever it took to feed my children - Yes.
