The only time masturbation is mentioned in the Bible is when Onan jerks off on the ground because he doesn't want to have a child with his dead brother's wife, as was the family custom at that time. God has him killed because of it. The Bible never says that masturbation in general is a sin.
I suppose more generally you have to believe in sin in the first place to care at all. But that's entirely up to you.

It's a sin if you do it in the school playground during recess. Other than those obvious places if you don't do it your body will while you sleep. Its your choice whether it goes down a drain in the shower or down a drain when you wash the laundry.

i don't think its a sin but u should save yourself for the right person ... if u do it alot u wont find some one to satisfy ur needs and u'll think u can do t all on ur own and thats not cool...just wait for that special person ok

well this is in family so, when you are masturbating with your sister, brother, father, mother, aunt, uncle, cousin etc. right next to you, or masturbating with you, that is when it is a sin, if youre alone and not thinking about your family members, its fine

Supposedly it's a sin because it wastes the sperm, which have the ability to create life.
Of course if EVERY sperm created life, or even one sperm every time a guy had sex, can you imagine how overpopulated the planet would be?
