Realize that you are nervous due to some fear. Fear of messing up or looking silly or making a mistake. First what is the worst that can happen? Usually the answer to that is not much. When you speak to a crowd don't concentrate on them but mentally fuzz out the faces and talk to generic people, not women and men etc. Also put yourself in the place of your audience. When you are out there listening to someone what do you think? Are you critical when they make a mistake or do you forgive them of it immediatly and go on? Most of the time people just aren't thinking that much about you or concerned as you are. The people in your audience are just like you ... normal humans and usually have the same reaction to you as you do to someone else speaking in front of you. Mentally accept this and teach yourself not to be controlled by your situation but you control yoru situation. If you make a mistake then laugh with them and think of everyone out there as your best friend who doesn't care if you aren't perfect because no one else is. Also remember it gets better with time and practice and doing it more and more.

try to start with small groups and then work your way up. I can't say you will always feel comfortable with it, but eventually it won't be so bad. I know this from personal experience - I would never speak in class or in groups, and ended up being a trainer/facilitator for as many as 100 people at a time.

There is also the trick of never really looking them in the eyes. Look just over the tops of their heads but still move your head from side to side as if you are scanning the audience. They will never know you are really looking at the back wall instead of them.

well you can practice speaking aloud at home infront of your family members. when you speak infront of people just do your presentation and don't think about what people might be thinking of you or there are too many people by you. just do your thing in a relaxed way
