Better for what? If you're after honey, the bees are better producers, of course.
On the other hand wasps and all their subpecies perform an invaluable task in agriculture, being the antagonists of innumerable insect pests.
They both sting, the wasps being slightly more aggressive; in this respect wasps are better adapted - from their own point of view - since they don't lose their sting and die as a consequence, as bees do.

a bee actually has use of pollination; a wasp doesn't and love to scare the living daylights out of you when you are doing something as innocent as opening the door. Plus, wasps just plain look scary.

A bee definately.

You have to seriously p**s a bee off for it to sting you, a wasp just gets you for the hell of it.

Bees primary action is to pollinate vegetation and produce honey. Wasps, although there are many with varying abilities, are carnivorous and eat other insects. They both have important roles to play in the environment.
