We hear how important it is to east fruits and vegies but looking at the price of them in the grocery store keeps me from buying many. I can't believe how much peaches and plums and berries are. I have to stick to the boring apples and bananas which I don't much care for. How can one eat healthy if the food is too expensive?

My large city doesn't have any markets or street vendors of fruits or vegs so they only place to buy them is at the grocery and I shop at the cheaper groceries but the stuff is still too expensive.

I feel the same as you, so I watch for whats on sale and load up. Probably because the seasonal stuff or the fact that fruit companies have to pay so many fines for hiring illegals to pick them instead of looking for people that are legal and need jobs.

I totally agree. If you walk into Whole Foods, one apple is probably costing you about 2 bucks, lol. It's ridiculous. Fruits are more expensice than veggies in my opinion. I totally agree with you.

it's expensive to grow them, and ship them

maybe check around for local produce stands, where the fruits & veggies are grown locally, they are usually cheaper (and fresher!)
