You're alone and laying on the floor, bleeding to death. You're far too weak to get up. There's a phone on the floor to the right of you, and the Bible to the left. You don't want to die. Do you:

A) Pick up your Bible and pray for god to heal you

B) Pick up the phone and call 911

You're losing blood VERY fast and only have time for one of the two options. Who do you trust, god or medical professionals?

(Anyone that chooses both answers will be ignored)

Well, I'd pick up the phone, dial 911 and while I'm on hold and dying my last breaths, I'd be reciting from memory those portions of the Word that pertain. You forget that it's not what's in the Book that's important, it's what part of the Book is IN you that matters.

Your question, who do you trust, is not valid as I trust both. I trust God to guide the hand of the ambulance driver to get to me in good time, the mind and knowledge of the paramedic who administers treatment, etc.

It reminds me of the story of the guy whose house was being overcome by floodwaters, and the bus came by to take him to higher ground but he refused, saying God would save him. So the water rose above the first floor and he had to retreat to the second floor. A boat came by to rescue him but he refused, saying God would save him. So when he was standing on the roof because the waters rose that much higher, a helicopter lowers a rope to help him; again he refuses, saying God would save him.

Well, he dies, and when he gets to heaven he asks God "why didn't You save me? Didn't You see how much faith I had in You?" And God answers, "I DID try to save you, I sent a bus, a boat and a helicopter"

if youre going to make me tell you choice A or choice B, ill tell you A, but since I made the effort to pick one or the other id appreciate a few more seconds for you to read my explanation.

it doesnt come down to who you trust, its a question of who has authority. if i say im trusting God to save me, im fully convinced he could. then if he doesnt save me as my physical body is dying, im covered because my spiritual body is with him the second i die. if i say im trusting the medical professionals, they can do a lot but if God doesnt want me to make it out alive nothing they can do will help me anyway, you know?

i chose A and im sticking with that, but the thing is, if that were actually happening to me id pick up the phone and 911 it because id be praying the whole time, its not something id have to do instead of calling. i love the Bible, but i dont need to pick it up and hold or read it to pray.

ok im done talking now but just for fun theres this song i love by five iron frenzy that really gets at what i mean- http://www.plyrics.com/lyrics/fiveironfrenzy/cannonball.html

Medical professionals can be physically there to help you in a matter of minutes. But who says you can't pray while you're on the phone with the dispatcher? I'm sure they'll pray with you. You don't need the Bible to pray, especially if you're not Christian. But I would definitely put my trust in the medical professionals first.

I believe that God put the phone right next to you. Then he placed the Bible right next to you also. This was to give you a little nudge, saying even through this I am right here with you. So pick up the phone that is right next to you and call 911.

What I'd like to say I'd do is use the phone to call anyone that I'm not sure of where they stand with Christ to bring them into a right relationship with the Lord before death.
The cool thing though, is I could call 911... and be praying while I'm on the phone with them. That's not being faithless, that's using wisdom.

Pick up the phone and dial 911. God gave us a brain.

My eternal life is already in Gods hands. I would dial 911. God has given the doctors the ability to perform life saving acts on the body; yet, ultimately it is God who heals (often using doctors). Luke was a physician... did you know that?

The phone.

Ever hear the story of the guy (not Noah) in the flood? Waters rose, and at porch-level, National Guard came with trucks and said "Evacuate!" Many went, but this guy said, "No, the Lord will provide for me." Water keeps rising, gets to the second floor, Guard sends boats and people climb out the windows to get to safety. Guy just says, "No, the Lord will provide for me." Water keeps rising, guy is the only one left, climbs onto the roof. Guard sends a helicopter and yells, "We have to get you out of here!" Guy says again, "No, the Lord will provide for me."

So the guy is walking through the Pearly Gates and sees Peter. Guys says, "Hey, what happened?! I though the Lord would provide for me." Peter looks at the guy and says, "Whadda ya want?! We sent trucks, boats, and a helicopter!"

i would dial 911, and at the same time i would wonder why there was a bible in my house. But i would also use the bible then, i guess..

i would rip the pages out, to use them to stop the bleeding.

I would call 911 and pray that I will still be alive by the time they get there. Then I would pray that they can save me.
