I think you might be taking this slightly out of context, but I could be wrong. I definately see your point and agree that too many Christian on this site judge others.

here's my reaction to your question

Mathew 7:1-2 is part of the Sermon on the Mount, so Jesus is talking to the common people, with maybe a few leaders in the mix, so he's talking to everyone who will follow his teachings.

My Bible, the NLT, says "Stop judging others, and you will not be judged. For others will treat you as you treat them. Whatever measure you use in judging others, it will be used to measure how you are judged"

It's not talking about judging people's actions as sin. We know what sin is, it's clearly defined throughout the Bible. When someone dies, God will condem them to hell for their sins, or he won't see their sins because they accepted Jesus' gift of clearing sins and let them into heaven. What Mathew 7:1-2 tells us is to not judge people, that's God's job. Christian should not condem people in their hearts- thinking 'yeah, they're going to hell'- but point out where they fall short and show them Jesus' love and forgiveness.

haha, ok, there's my mini sermon. I didn't expect that to be as long as it is, sorry.
Anyways, maybe some Christians who have been judging people can take some of that to heart, or at least study it a little bit more.

thanks for your time

If we can't determine what the Bible says sin is, then how are we are live without this information. Imagine living on earth with no rules and regulagtions, no authority, everyone for themself.

Man would destroy itself.

Some may not agree with the law of gravity, but it still exist and we have to cope with it, whether we say it exists or not.

The ultimate judge is God. When you die, there are two scenarios:
1. The Great White Throne Judgment. If you are here, your destination is hell. Weeping and gnashing of teeth, for they know they cannot enter into eternal rest with God.
2. In front of Jesus. In front of Jesus is proof you are entering into heaven, you will be judged by your works based on your faith and awarded crowns for your actions. You will then be prepared for the marriage supper with the Lamb.

Remember this, if you save a brother from sin, you save a brother for eternity. If you don't know what sin is, how can you save him?

Hi.
Pse read 1 Kor . 2 v 14 and 15.
Imagine if we stage a commitee to decide about the fate of souls, how many mistakes would we make and how many souls would perish ? Bribery, corruption and favouritism ?
Fortunately each ones own concience will have a healthy part of the decision i think.
Regards.

For Buckfish, do you judge Christians and their actions as against you and your actions? Why would you single them out? Do you decide what is right or wrong, or have you developed that ability yet? Its funny that you're judging and asking a question about being judgemental.

God is the one who truly judges all of us, although we all at some point have judged someone, and whether or not we are right, only God's judgement of that person is what matters in the end.

Sin to me is unbelief. Sins is a different matter...they are acts against Gods nature and commands.

Sin convicts the soul to be seperated (dead) from God. Jesus took our death (seperation) for us and by accepting him we are eternally alive unto God our creator.

There is only ONE mediator between man and God and that is Jesus Christ himself. NO man should judge another...that is Jesus job.

We are not the Judge, but we're all sinners, we just have a Savior

No, I try not to judge, but I don't listen to them if I think they are wrong. The bible says we will know them by their fruits. God is their judge though.

I couldn't care less what other people do with their life, as long as it isn't harming me or others.

Besides, I'm just as much a sinner as anyone else. I'm a homosexual Christian - I'm like, a total glutton for punishment. Lol.
