In fact Abraham was not the founder of Judaism but rather what has now become Christianism. Abraham is the founding father of the Aramaic tribe, where as Edom is the ancestor of the modern Jewish tribe - two different tribal units. There were a number of religious sects operating before Abraham's existence, the chief ones being the Egyptian Pharoismic Priesthood with deities such as Sethi Ram and the Pharaoh as God-King; and the Babylonian Baal worshipers.

There were thousands of religions that predated Judaism.

Pagans tended to worhip local deities, and no one really knows how many "religions" there were.

The primary reason the Roman Empire invented the Universal religion was to consolidate all those religions into one.
