Your blood pressure is probably high from the anxiety. You might have an ulcer or gall bladder issue.

Your pain sounds very similar to what my 21-year-old son experienced a few years ago. We were so worried. We were sure that he was having heart problems. He had just started university and was studying so hard, we were sure it was related to stress because his BP became elevated as well. However, he underwent many tests and it turned out to be a condition called costochrondritis. The pain gradually subsided over time and he never actually did require any treatment or medication. He has not had this pain for about 4 years now so hopefully it will not return.
"Costochondritis is a syndrome of chest wall pain that is due to inflammation of the cartilage and bones in the chest wall. Also called Tietze's Syndrome, costochondritis occurs when there is inflammation at the junction of the rib bone and breastbone (sternum). At this junction, there is cartilage joining these bones. This cartilage can become irritated and inflamed. Depending on the extent of the inflammation, this condition can be quite painful." My 20-year-old niece also experienced the same thing years ago and we had to rush her to the ER thinking she was having a heart attack. It also turned out to be costochrondritis. For some reason, young people seem to be most afflicted by this condition.
Check site below for more info. Hope that helps!

The left side of your chest holds your heart. Your blood pressure is a direct effect of your heart working. Put two and two together. Your doctor will and probably order up more substantial heart tests and monotoring when the problem is only GAS! I've had high blood pressure and sharp pains for years. Docs told me to go fart...I did...and I feel so much better....

It might be pleurisy, if it is, then you must be in so much pain! I had pleurisy once, i was sitting outside a pub opposite a hospital, i was in real agony so i went over to the hospital, they took x rays, found nothing & sent me home like i was a mad drunk or something. Next day i went to see my doc as i thought i was dying & she said it was pleurisy. There is something called a pleura, which is between your lungs and your ribcage & it has two layers. One layer is on your ribcage & the other is on your lungs. Between these layers, there's a thin layer of liquid that oils the layers to let them move past each other when you breathe in & out. If your pleura is irritated, the two layers become uneven and this oily liquid gets sticky. The pain that you are feeling could be these layers rubbing together. Go & see your doctor please. Take care.

That's classic symptoms of a gall bladder problem. I suggest you go to your doctor. It is NOT a heart problem.

Could be bad indigestion. The reason your BP may have been high is because you had this pain and/or you were at your doctors.

You may have blocked memories of previous pain and injuries. Any memories of abuse? I know from experience, GP's just do not know.
