Tthe problem with both software is that it can't provide resume support as dial up connection can not download big files often .
lime wire is really better than kazaa.
There is no question of legal or illegal as there is no rule to tell what is in ur pc and where u get it from...

The world of piracy is growing stronger and bigger then ever.
Limewire gets over 1 million new downloads for their program every week. You can't stop it and I don't want it stopped.
LimeWire is the better one by the way.
And here's a tip: To get a FREE copy of LimeWire Pro, when you install LimeWire BASIC, click on PROGRAMS, and type in "LimeWire PRO 4.9.10". That is the latest version and now you have TURBO CHARGED download speeds.

They usually do not catch you when you are downloading. They usually catch you when you are uploading to other users on the network.
They way P2P filesharing works is you are NOT downloading from Kazza or Limewire, you are downloading from other users computers. At the same time, you will be uploading files from your computer to other peoples computers

Anytime you visit a site your IP address is available.
Lets say I am the police and I put an illegal file on my site and make it available for downloading.
When you come to download it no matter what program you use I can see your are downloading the file and I can see your IP address.

I don't know the answers to all of your questions, but for the last question, there are some songs and movies that are o.k. to copy. This stuff is in what they call the public domain.
