I am 20 years old and I'm 5'6 and I weigh 184lbs. I want to lose some weight off of me; its just that I have a bad habit of eating a lot. I eat even after I get full! With dessert included. I want to lose weight so bad but I just don't have the determination and consistency to lose weight and to excercise.

How do you lose weight and what kinds of excercises could I do without having money to go to healthgyms and buying expensive equipment?

The ONLY way to lose body fat is to do a slimming diet. Exercise is OPTIONAL. Exercise can increase your metabolism so that you lose weight quicker, but that's all.

You are not alone; many people think like you seem to -- and it is 100% completely WRONG!! Think about it -- anorexics are known more for not-eating than taking exercise. Bulimia is an eating disorder, nothing to do with exercise. Anorexics and Bulimics are stick-thin... yet I'll bet you know some fat people who are energetic, who do a lot of exercise. Body-Builders and Gym-goers tend to weight more than fat people, and they eat more than fat people too!

For a height of 1680, you are more-or-less 10kg overweight, coming in just now at 83.5. At a sensible and modest average daily weight loss of 0.1kg, it would take 100 days for you to reach your target weight. That means you would lose 1kg every 10 days, so it's not very difficult at all.

For you I would recommend that you shrink your stomach, detox and regain control over you metabolism by doing a 24 hour fast -- no food at all (no problem for a 20 year old, and fast have been part of most religions for centuries). After the fasts, simply follow these rules: (1) Chew all your food very well (2) Drink 2 litres of water every day (3) Never ever ever drink carbonated or fizzy drinks ever (4) Always leave some scrap of food as waste on your plate -- never ever clear your plate (5) Never exercise at a gym -- it builds muscle which is heavier than fat, it is also a life habit that does more harm than good if you do not keep it up. (6) Walk a lot, walking is the very best exercise you can do, it requires no equipment (othe rthan sensible shoes), and is vwery sociable. (7) Pick any slimming diet -- fad or not... count calories, count points, whatever -- every slimming diet actually works! The trick is keeping the weight from coming back -- and the only way to do that is to keep your portions down, shrink your stomach and drink water.

Just remember, health is all about balanced diet, vitamins, minerals, supplements, diet, exercise, lifestyle, regimes etc... losing weight is simply about eating less, and particularly about eating less of the the fattening foods.

Hello :-) ! I really like a few answers on here. I have had the same problem all my life, until I started training with great personal trainers. I am eating healthily now, am more aware of what I am eating now. Am really savouring everything now. What really can help is a food diary, where you will note how you are feeling before and after you have been eating. Have noticed with chcolate (and I used to be a real sugar addict) that it often makes me feel worse than before. As I know I would fall into chocolate again if I started, I am not buying any anymore because I have discovered really healthy, non-sigary tasting foods such as fruits. Also knowing now that junk food will not make me feel better, Instad, I eat fruit. I used to be really big and I can really say that my personal trainers saved my life as I am living now and taking responsibilities for my life. Don't know whether you are overweight or not, but yes, exercise can help. If you would like some help with your training, this site offers online training as well: www.getfit.lu. Plenty of really helpful information on there too :-) . Good luck and Take care!

If you count calories, just eliminate 3500 per week and you will lose a pound a week. You can eliminate some by eating less sweets and/
go for a walk for a mile everyday. Walk1/2 mile and turn around and walk 1/2 mile back home. Do both and it will be easier. Just give up 500 calories of fattening foods a day. 500 x 7 days = 3500 cal.

No. If you want to lose weight, you have to exercise more than 30 minutes a day and eat a minimum amount of bad food. (30 minutes a day is to keep you at your current weight, not lose any) Try writing down everything you eat in a day and the calories and add it all up. Women should eat around 1400 calories a day. When you do this, you can see how much you eat and how much it is to get to 1400 calories.

The only way you can lose weight is to burn more calories than you take in. If you are eating 3000 calories per day for example, you are going to have a hard time losing weight even if you exercise. You can't change the laws of math, unfortunately. Most people on a weight loss program eat 2000-2300 calories per day plus exercise at least 3 times a week. Low cost exercises are walking, bike riding, swimming.

You can't lose weight that way. It could even be counter-productive, if you give yourself permission to eat more because you exercised. The best way to lose weight, along with 30 minutes of exercise a day, is to eat small, healthy, frequent meals (6 a day....but small and healthy) and drink plenty of water. I lost a bunch of weight this way, doing the Body for Life diet. On that diet, you can eat whatever you want 1 day every week; then you eat healthy the rest of the time. I used to write down whenever I craved something, and then completely stuff myself on the one day off. I behaved the rest of the time, and lost 25 pounds.

Lets experiment
take a paper cup
punchn a hole at the bottom
and put it under a runing faucet

will the water drain? yes, but it will also fill up and overflow.

Without proper control of what you eat, you woun't reach your goal.

Think of it this way: you are what you eat.
Meaning, that burger right there, when you eat it, will be a part of your body. in your hips, chest, brain. it will be part of you.

Now if you want to be fresh like a green apple eat that, you wanna feel fat like a quarter pounder go for it. Taste is a good indication to what this food will do to you, so ust eat more of what you want to feel like!

Hope this helps.

no, there are some errors in your plan. children should exercise for 30 minutes but adults should exercise for an hour. you will not gain weight with this plan but you won't lose it either. you need to think of the fattiest foods you eat and eat less of those. if you have a problem with feeling full, eat lean food that make you feel full like fish or chicken. good luck

From many years of experience, I know that if I want to lose weight I need to exercise AND cut out fatty foods. However, to remain at a constant weight, I find that as long as I maintain my exercise regime I can eat whatever the hell I want!

You have to remember that the more crap you eat the less likely you are going to want to jog or walk or whatever...

The main thing is to make sure your energy intake is lower than your energy output. Running in the red in other words.
