Here is a great list of vegetable storing guidelines:
http://www.gardenguides.com/TipsandTechniques/storing.htm

Vegetables wilt because they are drying out. That's why grocery stores spray their vegetables with water. Use your vegetable crisper for vegetables that wilt. The crisper is relatively sealed off from the remainder of the refrigerator and therefore keeps the humidity higher in that area. Some newer refrigerators have a control switch to control the humidity.

Keep reweting them but not to much wettness as mold will become an issue. Use as soon as possible. Only buy your vegetables for the next 2 or 3 days at a time. Some vegetables also should not be washed or scrubbed before storing such and squash and zucchini.

Usually that happens when your fridge is too cold. Some of the water crystals in the veggies freeze and burst the cells, which causes them to go soft. I had this problem and raised the fridge temp, and now my veggies are super crisp all the time.

The air circulated in the refrigerator saps the moisture from your veggies and that's why they go limp. Put them in the veggie drawer with a damp paper towel (not touching them or they'll rot), or in a plastic bag that's folded under (not locked shut or they'll rot) to keep them fresher longer.

shelf life is very short for vegetables. They need to be kept in a good plastic bag. Never store them in the plastic bag from the grocery store. Try to use them as soon as you can.

try to see if you have a bar that regulates humidity on the front of your crisper draw also you can try putting paper towels in the bottom of your drawer do not leave the veggies in the plastic they come from the store in and if you put lettuce in a bowl and drape it with a wet)damp) paper towel it will be nice and crisp

Adjust your tempature to a lower setting a bit at a time. Put veggies in the crisper drawers. Make sure you wrap them well - they tend to dry out if uncovered.

Both are good for you, each fruit/vegetable has different vitamins. Therefore as more variety, as better. Vegetables have generally less sugar than fruits.
