Islam?

Someone said this in a comment to one of my questions. Just want to check with other people to see if anyone else has heard of this. If a muslim is elected to a governing position over a region does Islam consider the land conqured for Islam?

No. A land is governed by Islam only if it follows Islamic law. So even many "Muslim countries" today are not governed by Islam.

well, i think that only works if the government is islamic in nature. if a muslim was elected, say, the president of the us, it wouldn't work because the system was founded on the basis of secularism mixed with christianity. if only the person is muslim, then it wouldn't because they're bound by non-muslim laws
at least that's how it sounds to me from the history i've read.

President of India is a Muslim (Dr. Abdul Kalam - a space scientist)

I dont think muslims in India have such a feeling that they have conquered India.

Interestingly DrKalam is not only a scientist..he is a spiritual person too.Besides being a good muslim, He has deep faith in Geeta and Yoga....he has vast knowledge about christian and Buddhist beliefs

Unfortunately, some Muslims believe exactly like that. Although, these are the barbaric unintelligent muslims.
