I'm sure these things have a role in marriage, especially with abstinence in fashion. I think that the use of belts would put the emphasis on developing a practical working relationship and take the emphasis off sex and physical satisfaction.

A bride should wear a belt on dates and meetings with her boyfriend before and during her engagement period until at least the end of the ceremony

The wife should wear a belt for the first few weeks/months of marriage, removing it for one night of the honeymoon and replacing it after that.

Tthe wife should wear a belt if her husband is performing unsatisfactorily in any regard, only taking the belt off when the behaviour has improved and stayed improved for six weeks.

Other uses of belts?

Modern belts are comfortable, effective and can be worn long term. See for example http://www.tollyboy.com

I understand the emphasis of developing a true relationship outside of the physical satisfaction realm.
I understand and respect people's choices to remain abstinent until marriage.
But using your vagina for control, "reward and punishment?"

In that respect, I'm going to have to label you with GPS: Golden Pu**y Syndrome.

Hello should a wife

Are you the wife?? If you're wanting to use a chastity belt it sounds like you're wanting to use sex as a bartering system!!! You shouldn't be thinking that way if everything is good in your relationship. Are you newly married??? If you are newly married and you are already thinking that way, sounds like you should rethink some of the things some of the things that are happening in your marriage. Sex is something to be enjoyed by both of you, not just 1. Good luck!!!

In short:
No.

In depth:
One of the perks of marriage is sexual relations with your partner. One of the key things in a relationship surviving is trust. If you feel the need to have your wife wear a chastity belt, there is clearly no trust there. Similarly, why does the wife have to wear a belt and the husband is free to do as he wants? Is it a fashion statement? heh. Finally, I've never understood using sex, by refusing it, as "punishment". It's silly, in my opinion.

If a man doesn't trust his wife, he shouldn't have married her. If the wife wants a belt to punish the husband, I question her love for the husband. Marriage is all about complete trust and love from both the husband and the wife. Belts are not practical in a modern world. That's just sick to even try and justify it.

You are either very kinky, or a very boring lay. If the belt looks good on you, honey, by all means, wear it. But while you're sportin' that fancy belt, I'm going out with either your sister or your best friend, 'cause some girls like a guy to be a bad guy once in while.............

Sounds silly to me. If you cannot control yourself, then forget the belt, you don't need to date! And a belt after marriage is crazy. Being able to lock my husband out of sex is twisted and unfair. If I have issues with him, I better be able to talk to him and resolve them. If not, I don't deserve to be married! Belt? Rediculos!!

Question - why should SHE be the one in the belt? What about him? Is there a reason why the wife / girlfriend should be the only uncomfortable person?

The wife can put the belt on HIM if he's unsatisfactory, rather than on herself. Makes more sense to me...

Excuse me...but are we talking about Communist China or something? This is the United States where women are liberated....wearing something like that is almost like putting a harness on a horse....You can wear that if you wish...but to suggest that the rest of the women of U.S.A do so will only get you a backlash from Women Advocacy Groups and Feminists

You can't be serious! Don't marry someone you don't trust. Chastity belts are from the 1700's. This is 2006!
