That depends on your cat. Is your cat tame or wild? If your cat is wild, most likely she will hide to have them. But if she is a tamed female, here is what you should do. Make her a large bed that is comfortable and warm. Prior to having her kittens she may appear nervous or anxious and mew a lot. Show her the bed you have for her. She will go in it by herself and get ready to have her babies. Stay by her side and "hold" on to one of her front paws and talk softly to her. Mother cats whether experienced or not will find much comfort in knowing you are there to support her.
As she is nearing the time to give birth, you can expect to hear some loud cries. This is normal. Remain with her and assure her she will be okay.
Have a watch with you. After the first kitten is born, time how long the second, third, fourth etc. are apart. Don't let too much time past 15 minutes to go by in between births. If you see that the mother is pushing and nothing comes and you feel her stomach and know that there is one or so to come; then do the following: Pick up the mother with both hands behind her front legs just an inch or two above her bed. Gravity will take over and assist the mother cat with the rest of her births.
Don't be grossed out when you see your cat eating the goo around the kittens. That is a built in instinct that all mother cats have. They know that by eating this stuff is healthy for the kittens and helps them to survive. Also there are nutrients for the mother cat too.
Once she is done licking them off, or sometimes before, she will allow her kittens to nurse.
Enjoy your new arrivals and their mother! Cats and all pets are gifts from God to be our best friends and best companions!

Ok when kitty decides to have her babies she will hide cats like a dark remote area. They love privacy. The day she'll have the kittens she will be very slow and stop periodically and lay down. She will also eat alot less than she normally does. When you wake up one day and see your cat is missing go look in any dark place especially if there is any hiding space your kitty go to all the time that is your best bet to where she is. Put a soft blanket in a corner or closet in a room where your cat likes to hang out, but is away from heavy foot traffic. (your room, near the dryer, etc)
Your cat will hide out for a few days. It's best to find here there, pet her, and make sure she eats/drinks normally. She will have her kittens all by herself. Though check on her, because sometimes they need a little encouragement after the first ones.
good luck and congrats!

Cats usually have their kittens in hiding, such as in the crawlspace under your house.

Cats instinctively hide when giving birth. It's Nature's way of seeing they protect themselves and their offspring at a particularly
vulnerable time.As we all know, they're a lot different from dogs
in almost every respect including this one.

She will hide because usually cats keep mostly to themselves and doesn`t want her young hurt by you or anybody else.

When she starts disappearing alot, try following her to see where she goes. You'll hear her when she is having them. They growl. Mine did anyways.
