Quote mypublicincident,
"That is the cornerstone of his marterdom (the crucifixion). Take away that and all that is left is the illegitimate son of a cheating wife."

I think you are making a derogatory reference to the birth of Jesus, yes? If so, all I can tell you is that Mary was not married to Joseph yet when Jesus was conceived so she was not a "cheating wife".
If God wanted to come to earth in human form and live a complete life as a human, how else would He do that, except to be born as a human is born? And if He were born as a human, to whom?
God chose to be born of a virgin, so there would not be a question about paternity. If she had been married, everyone would have said that it was her husband's child not God's.
I don't know why God chose to do it this way but He did tell the world ahead of time that He was going to do this.
We are not God and cannot explain all aspects of God's wisdom and plan. We don't have the capacity to understand all of it. Perhaps when we are in heaven, God will reveal all.
To those who claim it is all fiction, I say, where's your proof? The proof of His existence is in the eye witness accounts written by his many followers. Do you really think early Christians, the Apostles who walked with Christ, would have accepted being thrown to the lions for a person who never existed?

I believe there is some misinformation here. They were married before the birth of the Christ Child. That nixes the illegitimacy of the Holy Child in our modern terms. She could not be a "cheating wife" if pregnant before the ceremonies. And if you believe His father was human, how do you know it wasn't Joseph? Recent discoveries have found that Joseph had been married before his marriage to Mary. I do not profess to know the truth. But these are my questions.

I think "the illegitimate child of an unfaithful wife" sounds better.

The real truth is that Jesus of Nazareth never existed. The Jesus story is an embellished tale about some rabbi who called himself the "Christ" but the story itself is fictional.

Additional comment:

The historicity of Jesus is subject to debate because there is no proof of his existence. If there was proof he existed, there would be no debate about his existence. The bible is not proof.

What is the big threat to you?

You're never going to get the answers that you will listen too. Try another subject or do you suffer from Asperger's Syndrome.

I'll wait for you to look that one up!

No! The real truth is Jesus Christ is God's Son. He died on the cross for your sins and mine. Accept Him into your heart before it is too late.

If that is "truth" to you then go ahead and believe it. Could the person you just described fulfill OT prophecy, die and be raised to life, and change the world as we know it? That's your decision...

You're not looking for the truth, you're looking to mock the truth with your ignorance.

If you are talking about Jesus, you've got it all wrong man. Jesus died on the cross to save you from your sins. He is God.
