Check out the city of Maywood, CA, look at the Mayor and all of the other officials, this is the elected party of a demographic that is 98% latino. I hear that latinos are family oriented, but I think they are -out of neccessity. They come from poverty, where each individual makes 5cents an hour, so of course they need to stick together to survive. Beware though south americans are amoungst the most racially motivated people I have ever met, even against each other: cuban vs mexican or whatever.

What affect on our government/country do you think allowing these criminals to become voters will have?

That would be very interesting to consider. We assume you are referring to beings from another planet, hence the word alien. The minimum wage in Mexico is roughly 56 cents per hour not 5 cents. Persons convicted of felonies can not vote. If illegals are permitted to become legal, then they have the right to vote just as you do. USA was founded on a English European model of society and now that the model is becoming more Latino this seems to bother you. Did you ever consider that Mexican culture is founded on models from Spain and Germany? So what are you afraid of really? The only thing constant is change.

As I understand it, in Maywood the police are forbidden to make traffic stops because they might stop an illegal alien who doesn't have a driver's license and 'make trouble' for him. It makes you wonder who is voting, already. In California they can't ask for proof of citizenship.

In Arizona, there was a law passed recently that would require proof of citizenship for voter registration. The Hispanic groups are fighting it saying it will cause problems for voter registration drives. The judge will rule next week. I think we need a law like that in California.

In any event, we can still challenge results, and since voters do have to show evidence of addresses, track people down after the fact, I suppose.

I assumed only those legally able to vote voted until I got interested in this issue after the first marches and found that is not always the case. I think that this year there will finally be scrutiny of that, however.

I think the danger is in the fact that these peoples have come over in numbers so great that they are not assimilating. I hear over and over that they still consider themselves "Mexican" or whatever the nationality. I don't think people who still identify themselves as belonging to a different country should be voting in our elections.

latino is a too general term. it's like saying mexico and cuba and panama are the same country. second of all, latinos are not illegal, only mexicans are (latino and mexican is not the same thing). yes we all are usualy family oriented (more than americans), but not by necesity. and south americans are not racially motivated people. my friend (american) agreed with me that americans are more racialy motivated people than latinos (latino is a good term for summing up all the countries bellow the united states). and not every latino comes from poverty. I know tons of familys including mine that don't come from poverty. it's a TOO common stereotype. My dad was brived to come here to work as a biochemist at the complex carbohtdrates reseacch center at the university of georgia. yes, both of my parents are scientists and are very succesful in life. frankly from my point of view, most of those were ignorant remarks. sorry I didn't answer your main question, they don't have a lot of rights you guys do. they cant really vote. but it is a good idea to listen to other countries major point of view. in mexico, most of the people who care about american elections are going to say bush isn't a good president.

Do the math. If each illegal immigrant coming to america has 4 kids with another illegal immigrant, how long until the country's subverted? I support giving the ICE about 50 billion dollars in funding each year until the people that are FROM central/south america are actually back home where they can do all that 'hard work' to fix their own problems, instead of causing new ones in the USA.

Criminals? Thats a little harsh. They break one law and all the sudden they are criminals for the rest of their lives? If the government makes them citizens, then it is pardoning them for entering the US. People can and will have children with whomever they want. If they love a person that is an illegal immigrant, then they do not have the prejudice attitude that you do, therefore they wont care about you supposed "consequences". They are making a child. Having a child is a precious thing, politics should have nothing to do with it.

You can't get an intelligent answer to a stupid question. Illegal aliens can't be bred in America. Only the first generation can possibly be alien, after that they're American born, and automatically Americans, the same as any of us.
The term "breeding" means matching up the male and female in order to produce the desired offspring. Have you ever heard of that being done in America, aliens or otherwise ?
Hitler tried breeding people, it didn't work.

I have a better one for you: what is going to happen in 10+ years when the millions of illegals are then legal and begin to sue companies for not being hired as executives, etc..?

When they start raising hell saying they are sick of doing the **** jobs that politicians are saying Americans won't do and is the reason we need them here?

And btw, I am a yellow dog as liberal democrat as you can get. It is a complete myth that democrats are pro-immigration. Democrats try to focus on things that are better for the American ppl in the future, not what is going to be a hot issue just today in order to get votes.

boy, talk about your charged question.
Allowing people who are not even citizens of your country to vote allows them to vote for people that support their cause. The cost of this is that all the politicians voted for in this scene feel compelled to focus on this and only this issue. Forgetting that in politics you should be doing it for the good of the common man, not just one group.
To put a fine point on it look how well this works in Mexico.
