Probably chair exercises. Might see if you can find the TV show 'Sit and be fit' that comes on every day during the week...it is geared towards less straining exercises...good luck...

There are a lot of aquaerobics classes that run through the YWCA that are REALLY helpful. If you don't have a Y nearby, simply try poking around a local gym and see what kind of low-impact workouts that they have available.
Pilates or yoga are a great workout as well. Pilates more so as you tend not to be on our feet as much. But I really think any aquaerobics, or just swimming a few laps a day would be your best bet.

I understand that people with arthritis should not aggravate the joints too much to make matters worse. Therefore simple light exercises like walking, maybe short running, and stretching exercises will do. Try taking glucosamine sulphate religiously. It should help as a lot of people swear by it. Meanwhile taking calcium with Vit D and also low fat milk before bed helps too, as a survey said calcium is better absorbed taken an hour before sleeping and it also helps you to sleep better.

Join a gym, they have all sorts of weight machines that don't involve feet. Swimming or water aerobics are great for people with arthritis. roller blading might be ok for a cardio exercise. Pilaties, yoga, maybe biking, especially over flat ground.

i would suggest light but regular exercise.
start with non aggrevating exercises such as swimming which will keep the joint warm, take the weight of the joint and still allow free movement.
non-impact exercises are the best so that your not causing further damage to the joint surfaces and pain

You can work out right in your chair with dumbells.
Start with 5lb each and work your way up to 10lbs each.
