Absolutely you should do something if you have physically or even verbally abusive parents. Go to your student counselor and talk with them for guidance and assistance.

Yes, you should take some steps to preserve your own health and peace of mind. The other person's advise about consulting with someone at school is good. They may be able to guide you further. You didn't say what kind of abuse is involved. The police have specialists to deal with the more extreme. Child Protective Services, a county agency also gets involved in the extremes.

Hi,
I am sorry to read this. I am 64 yrs old, and have raised 3 children, now married and out on their own.
At 13, you can start by talking with a School Counselor. If you are not happy with that, then go to any Social Services department in your local area. Tell them what is going on.
Best of luck.

Yes! Go to the police or talk to someone at your school (a teacher, guidance counselor etc.) Or someone else you trust. You need to tell someone as soon as possible. Even if it's just verbal abuse, it's still not right and you need to stop it. You need to tell someone immediately or it will just keep happening and get worse and worse.
Good luck!
