Not that I'm making any plans...but
Is it the same hell, or is it different.?
The religions are different, so wouldn't the hells be different, too?
What are the differences in the "descriptions" of hell between the two?

The religions really are not very different. We read the same Scriptures, after all. The New Testament is (for the most part) a web of quotations from the Old Testament, as anyone who has ever read it with attention can tell you. Christianity can be thought of as a variant sect of Judaism, if you like. The range of opinions on what hell is like don't follow a sharp divide between the two religions. I have met Jews who don't believe in it at all, and others who think of it as a literal lake of eternal fire. I've found the same range of opinion in Christian circles. So I'd say read the Scriptures for yourself, and decide what you think it means. It's not nearly so hard to understand as people seem to think.

The two religions are VERY different! There is no hell i Judaism, there is no devil in Judaism. According to Jewish belief Stan is nothing more than another angel who works for God- his job to be the Accusser at the heavenly trial when you die. See, in Judaism an angel CANNOT rebel- the Torah (Five books of Moses) explicitly states that only man was given free wil- and this means that angels do not have free will and thus cannot rebel.

So while Judaism talks about the "fires of Gehinnom"- it is an allegorical reference to the burning shame that a sould feels when it is confronted with its sins and sees what it could have achieved, but failed to. And these fires, while they may feel eternal, last for a maximum of a year. Their is no eternal damnation in Judaism, we believe God is much too loving to do that to souls sent down into a fallible world where there is a high chance of failure due to massive temptation!

There is a difference between some christian views.

There are some that teach that Satan will be in charge of hell and will torture all who do not accept Jesus, and that the tortuer will continue forever, and that God will be pleased by this. The Bible does not support this view. I think that this was a lie established to keep people in the church out of fear, because only the church could get loved ones out of hell.

I believ that the Bible teaches that the wicked will be burned completely to ashes ant that this will last forever. It also says that the fire will come from within Satan. There will be no second chances.

To me hell is hell. It does not distinguish what religion, if any, you came from. Also I consider it to be eternal, meaning once you are sent there, you are there forever. Christianity shares many of the same beliefs as the Jewish do, the first five books of the bible are taken straight from the Jewish Torah. They deal primarily with Gods law. There are fundamental differences between the 2, most notably, Christianity accepted Jesus Christ as the Messiah, and the Jewish are still awaiting Him. To answer you question about which one would be best to go to...I hope and pray I never find out!

Off hand they both believe in the same type of hell which are two types; the grave and what most persons think of when you say a person is going to hell is they do not get saved.

the Jewish hell is wayyyy better than Christian

Christian hell is that if you do not believe in Jesus you will burn for all eternity or at best die

Jewish hell states that one you do not automatically go their if you are not Jewish it is based more on your actions rather than faith.

also it is not eternal. Hell in Judaism is more like purgatory in that you suffer for what ever sins you did not repent for an then you receive reward biased on how much good you have done and on how close you were to fulfilling your potential.

Jews dont believe in hell. If hell is the place for ETERNAL torture, that is just not the Jewish idea of a forgiving Gd.....

There is only one hell, the devil and his angels will be there and anyone who hasn't PERSONALLY accepted Christ as savior. It's a very personal thing, you don't get to heaven by just being religious.

i think christians believe in real fires
jews dont
jews beleive the soul feels shamed at sinning
ever got red in face and it felt like your face was 'burning'
well jews feel that shame before G-d will be so strong that your soul will feel like it's 'burning'
G-d gives you everything and you puny human you waste it on momentary pleasure
you're gonna feel real stupid and therefor embarrased and thereby feel like you're burning in shame

if you'd spend eternity in one or the other, i'd pick sheol, not the lake of fire.
but the whole point is to be a decent human being to other people during your lifetime here.
